This is a must for horror fans. The 13 episodes bring back memories of my childhood, this was my first taste of Horror and I loved it. I was concerned that on seeing them all again, I would find them all tacky and old. This was not the case!! I have been watching them with my teenage daughter (who is now a converted horror fan) I have been watching them one episode a week and have found myself looking forward to my "horror night in" with my daughter....... ENTERTAINING STUFF!

Episodes include "The Silent Scream," "Carpathian Eagle," "Witching Time," "The House That Bled to Death," and more. Peter Cushing, Brian Cox, Pierce Brosnan, Denholm Elliott, Sian Phillips, Gareth Thomas, and many more appear in these chilling tales.

Once available as 4 separate video's comprising 13 tales of horror, made for TV, these can now be obtained on 2 DVD's as a box set. Anyone who recalls the series with affection, will want them, and they are also recommended to those who may have missed them.

As to be expected, some come off better than others. The most memorable one's for me, are 'The Silent Scream', which contains one of Peter Cushing's finest performances,'The House that Bled to Death', 'The Two Faces of Evil' 'Witching Time' 'Visitor from the Grave' 'Charlie Boy' and 'Children of the Full Moon', which benefits from having Diana Dors, in the cast. These are the best of the bunch, but others may have their own particular favourites.

In short, well worth having as a reminder of when 'Hammer' were not only going strong at the cinema, but also turning out films, made for TV.

A classic series from my childhood! Great ghost/supernatural stories. Looks a bit dated now in terms of special effects. But it has classic errie stories that scar you more! Sit back an admire the English countryside and classic cars!

Cheesy, Badly acted, Telegraphed endings, Apalling FX, Brilliant! It doesn't get better than Hammer if your a horror fan. These stories only have any kind of impact if you suspend all sense of reality as your observing. I was turned onto Hammer horror when I was a very young 6-7 years old (mispent I know) and my love for the genre has never really faded and this collection succeeds in bringing it all back in a very special way. Don't expect oscar winning performances and intelligent script writing but do prepare for a real sense of the macabre and the feelng that maybe things aren't always what they seem. Unforgettable!

liked the first dvd, but second one thought the storylines were too simalar,and too violent.overall good dvd

i love thrillers and programmes that keep you guessing about the ending.i have bought tales of the unexpected dvds from ebay and hammer house episodes are very simmilar.i absolutely love them and now my 10 year old is also hooked.when i have watched all episodes-which i nearly have,i will not be selling them,but wait a while and watch them all over again! HIGHLY RECCOMENDED.

Having been a fan of this series since first aired on tv, I was pleased to renew my contact with Hammer House of Horror.

A series that I have already watched several times over and am sure I will watch many times more.

I loved it Im 33 now and it takes me back to when me and my brother, who is 38 were allowed to watch it at the weekend usually on a Saturday night. We were scared to death and in them days they were the main horror films to watch because everyone did watch mainly only those films then. I think even now with all the horror films that are about today they are still good and were very cleverly thought up and all that time ago it must have been harder to make things seem as scary as todays films especially with all the speacial effects. I loved most of all the old actors and actresses{ Diana Dors, Denholm Elliott}, etc. My brother was thrilled when he found out Id purchased it and I lent him it which lead him to buy a copy for himself and he loves it too.

I bought it for a present. The person who I bought it for had already watched it, thought it was excellent and wanted a copy for themselves.

Brilliant! I had vague memories of this TV series from when it was first transmitted, back in 1980 and wanted to catch up with it again. It's a great way to spend a Saturday evening, curled up on the sofa with a glass of wine and the spooky House of Hammer.

I like this item as it brings back memories of a series that was shown in the 70s and I remember really enjoying watching them.I decided to buy it beacuase it was something id been after for a while and the seller was selling them at a really bargain price.

This is cla, becuase its a cla set of films, with cla actors and cla style. Hammer House is cla. I used to wtach it with my brother and he thinks its cla as well.
