An excellent movie with a great mix of actors who play outstanding roles. Being a remake you do not know what to expect but the makers simply out done themselves on this one as this is one of the only remakes that is much better than the original. If you were a fan of the original you will definetly like this as it is all the same characters but with much better actors and dancing. The cheery and catchy songs add a little extra fun into the movie and complete it wonderfully. Definetly a movie made for everyone.

This is a great light hearted and very well performed piece of entertainment! With great performances from the likes of Christopher Walkin, John Trevolta, and rising star Zac Effron this film is guarenteed to be enjoyed!

my daughter just loves musicals and anything to do with singing so this film was great for her. she is only 7 and although the story line goes over her head alittle bit the characters and the songs are great, and so is the dancing. we have showed her the original and the remade version and she loves them both so take your pick they are both great.

If you are into feel good musicals set in probably the best time to live - the 50's and 60's - then you will love this movie! Packed full of great songs and dance sequences and with an all-star cast, this movie deserves to be up there with the greats like Grease and Little Shop of Horrors!

Enjoyed seeing John Travolta in this film. Watched it with my 8 year old grandaughter and had to explain why in the 50's and early 60's coloured people were not treated the same as white people. She just could not believe that could happen!!

GREAT FIHaving converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.LM GOOD ACTING AND STORYLINE

I love this musical because it is fun energetic and had amazing songs. It has an all star cast including John Travolta who played danny in Grease Michele Phyfer and Amanda Byrnes from shes the man. Nicky Blonsky made a great Tracy and i hope she is in more Films soon. I heard she is going to be in ugly betty season 3.

This is a great film I love John Travolta in this role. If he can't dance no one can. He plays the part so well. The mix of great songs and dancing as well as including one of the issues of the day segragation of cultures added interest and a feel good factor to this film.  Great actors and supporting roles. Well worth buying to watch and watch again. This DVD offered the choice of listening to and watching the songs individually in each scene so a great buy.

This is another one of those feel good films and we certainly need those. To be honest it was not a film that I would normally have watched but I was recommended by my nephew who really rated it. The beginning I felt was a little bit on the slow side but after about half an hour it got going and I really enjoyed it. I believe its appeal would be initially to a younger audience but the young at heart will also enjoy it.

this film is amazing, it has great cast, very funny, and its a musical! brilliant, its got a positive message in it and some great singers! John Travolta is very good in this film as well! i recomend it for anyone, even for people who are not musical lovers!

In my sons opinion, it is excellent, he has watched it about 5 times since he got it last Friday! I haven't had chance to watch it, but I hear it is very good.

this is just the best fun movie musical since grease came about the whole family will love it great songs, funny characters and good story line.full of top stars travolta is dead funny.

This film is awesome, fit for the whole family to watch but with just enought sly innuendo to amuse the adults in the audience.
Fantastic cast singing some very good songs indeed.
You can't watch this film without going away with a very big smile indeed.

Real feel good film - saw it at the cinema and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Especially good if you are oversized!

It was a good film with plenty of dancing in it. The scene was set in the 1960's before the time of black and white people mixing. A young girl called "Tracey Turnblad" had her heart set on dancing on "The Corny Collins Show even though she was not typical of the slim girls that always danced on it.She ended up getting her wish and through her the black people got an opportunity to dance alongside white people on the show. Each character was portrayed well. I chose to buy hairspray because i had heard good comments about it.

I watched this in the Cinema when it was first released and absolutely loved it! The cast lineup is wonderful and John Travolta is at his very best in my opinion! He's so good at playing a woman that you loose yourself in the film and forget it is him! He can shake those hips!!!!

Love the songs, really catchy. Going to see this at the West End soon with Michael Ball in it, cannot wait!!

Great story, excellent cast, fantasic music. Originally bought this dvd for my daughter but found myself glued to the screen too.

Grand daughter pestered her mother for it and like a good "Poppa" I bought it as a gift. She watches it constantly but I have never seen it so I cannot provide any proper sort of review

my daughter really wanted it and since buying it from ebay she has watched it non stop so as shes happy im happy to and it was cheaper than in the shop and was delivered very quickly
