Without any hesitation I can say this phone is an absolute gem, a rather hefty one at that but its not more than 1mm thicker than the k810/i.
Firstly this is a serious phone. A serious phone with beauty. Touch-Flo 3D is mightily impresive and while the Windows mobile system is more functional than 'consumer friendly' this is beacuase it is not a toy.
Apple fans would have you believe the iphone is the best thing since sliced bread, and while the reviewer respects and indeed owned an iphone, it is the revolutionary concepts (such as touch screen, app-store, 3G, widescreen, accelerometer) that it innovated that made/makes it great. Now other manufcturers are smply learning to do it better.. how a phone can omit standard video capture, copy and paste and MMS and still be considered untouchable goes to show the over-hype.
It is neccessary to mention as the spectre of the iphne looms large over the entire mobile phone market. This isn't a comparison this is just to say for all touch screen phones; if you find yourself wanting for an easier typing experience you should look no further than the Touch Pro, with its glorious high-resolution screen to its rubber key, raised keyboard which easly trumps all of its predecessors and the newer T-mobile G1 by a country mile.
Excellent for web browsing - facebook, bbc, msn, ebay etc. - with the skyfire browser allowing you to view the REAL INTERNET such as Adobe Flash elements of websites such as the REAL YouTube(not the mobile version with limited videos that are currently available on all phones), BBC iPlayer, ESPN video highlights etc. all at 3G speeds which are comparable to home internet connections.
There are some fiddly issues such as the Windows system leading you through multiple menus to access certain features but if you're familiar with the platform you should become accustomed more quickly.
NOT FOR THE TECH NOVICES unfortunately but if you want a phone for any task, Internet, Email, Document editing(comes with Mobile Office!) even sum Games look no further

Well, the HTC Touch Pro seems pretty impressive compared with the Touch Diamond. The 288MB RAM makes this device faster and more responsive than the Diamond and ANY previous HTC devices albeit, more expensive. If you’re a power user and you need to do emails and browse the web at the same time or browse multiple pages at the same time then switch to a word processing software, then the HTC Touch Pro is the best device to do that. Sure, the HTC Touch Pro still suffers from the same bugs as previous windows mobile device and the occasional lag, and yeah, the iPhone has a faster and responsive interface and still prettier to look at but when it comes down to which is really the better smart phone for power users? The HTC Touch Pro wins.

the Keyboard dislocation can not be accepted.I can not use the Number keys because they are dislocation.The seller may have had alot of trobles with selling this phone.But it was not my fault.She should not sell the phone which has problem to people without indication.As a buyer I don't want any arguments.

HTC touch proLets start with the obvious. you need to get a decent ROM on this phone. the newest one from HTC is decent and as its official will keep you away from badly cooked ones.
windows mobile is a great mobile operating system. does everything well and with the touchflo3d interface is pretty intuitive.
totally customisable so you can set it up just the way you like it with everything in its place.
qwerty keyboard is great for texting or e-mails, buttons are a little small but you get used to it.
touch screen is decent, sometimes you need to press with a bit more effort than say the iphone, but its good and responsive none the less.
camera is actually ok. flash is pretty worthless, but in decent light the pics taken are of decent quality.
application support is also excellent given its basically windows on a phone. im going to try out marketplace which, if it works well, will seal the deal and I can ditch the iphone for good.
overall build quality is also excellent. HTC know how to make good phones and this is no exception.
to summarise, if you like your gadgets to play with, and tweak then this phone is for you. a decent ROM, a few performance tweaks and its perfect.

HTC Touch Pro SmartphoneI love everything about it! From a business point of view, where all correspondence is either via phone or e-mail, this unit has proven to be ideal.
Great Camera, built in GPS and can even play MP3's. All in a relatively compact unit, with the added bonus of full qwerty keyboard.

I have not had this phone long, but would highly recommend, the value for money that you get with this brand is excellent. I was initially thinking of getting the Apple 3G(s) but it is very over priced and the functionality you get on the Touch Pro is far better in my opinion any way.

I have been using an MDA Vario since 2005 and I always put off upgrading as the changes did not seem worth the effort even though there were some minor gripes with my old phone. However, when my old phone stated to fail I looked at other alternatives but none completely filled my requirements apart from the HTC Touch Pro Smartphone. It is brilliant although it does have some unique ways of operating but I have already degun to learn then

Small but weightly, with a five row keyboard (including numeric row), this is a highly capable Keyboard phone for frequent emailers and smsers
Sharp screen at 640x480, a bit on the small side compared to say, the htc diamond 2, htc magic or iphone, but does mean the phone is compact.
very fast, and faster then the diamond due mainly to whopping 288mb of ram
good value now the touch pro 2 is coming out. and will no doubt continue to be value until its discontinuance.
lastly, of course being HTC, completely hackable on that well know web site, i.e. approved geek friendly :)

HTC Touch PrFunctionality - fantastic, only slightly envious fo the HTC Touch Pro II recently launched, equal functionaliy but the Touch Pro II just wins on the asteatics.
HTC have simply turned the screws and made Windows Mobile ever more user friendly...perhaps not an Iphone beater just yet but for those that use Windows mobile as a business tool rather than an Iphone toy then it can't be beat!
