This group was entirely unknown to me until i was invited to see them live at the birmingham academy. Immediately i listened to their hit songs "trains to brazil" and "made up love song #43" to which i was very impressed which lead me to purchase their album prior to the live gig.
The album left me with low hopes for the live gig. Many of the songs were slow and in my eyes rather boring. My father on the other hand aged 49 love's the album and all of the songs appreciating all the sound and the lyrics. Many of the songs lack any true pace, with variation of different melodies throughout the songs, the rockers amoungst us however wont appreciate the album.
The album itself is of a good quality but not up to my more upbeat taste of music but even i couldnt dislike the entire album. The group live however were excellent! And are a must see. They really capture the unique sound they have providing a great show.
