A few days in the life of a couple of musicians.
This is not your average 'pop star wants to be an actor' movie. Tupac was an emerging talent and fully deserved the praise heaped on him for this role. Roth is his usual excellent self and the film moves along at a decent pace, keeping you fully interested in plot.
Guess you can't mention 'Pac' without mentioning the sad fact of his early demise. All credit for him in this movie then. It was both a brave and clever choice of first film. I can imagine he'd had offers to play 'gangstas' and 'playas' pouring in. He ignored them and went for a much riskier type of character to play. His character is neither bad guy or hero and Tupac added depth, something 'pop stars' rarely manage when acting.
All in all an excellent film. If you are a fan of Tupac you have to see it. If you have no idea who he was you have to see it as well. he was a great talent cut short.
