He wants to coach some 16 and 17 year old juvenile delinquents in a detention facility in hopes of making them change their violent and criminal ways. He wants to teach them team work and to take their minds off gangs and to also learn respect. Since a lot of juveniles return back to their gangs or prison again or end up dead. This movie does send a good message to the youth who are incarcerated. That they can become better people if they are given a second chance. The acting done by "THE ROCK" and "XZBIT" were realistic and inspiring. Review ID: 10000000004974855 Was this review helpful? The fact that it is based on an 'against all odds' true story showed some people that I know that there is hope for them yet. I got drawn into it, and empathasied with the characters. I have watched it probably about 10 times now - and I still get very close to tears, and very happy (at the same parts) every time I watch it. I would highly recommend watching this film. It was so well acted out that it reminded me why I want to go into youth counselling. This isn't that cliched rubbish that is so popular nowadays. Report this review Review created: 15/02/08 by: dwayne johnson puts in an inspiring performance that makes this film absolutely great. it suceeds at being fascinating yet delivers morals throughout it's plot. you will find yourself drawn into the emotions of the characters as you see them develop throughout the story. the interesting twist at the end also really makes you think about the people involved- after all it is based on a true story. think of a family film, but more gritty and realistic and you have gridiron gang.
