Grey's Anatomy has been the biggest show in America since it began. And series two leaves no question as to why. I will be the first to admit I have never really been in to medical shows. I bought the first series because I kept hearing buzz around the show, and I was looking for a new show to get into while Lost was on summer break. Did I pick the right show? I absolutely did. Even better than it's first season, season two is packed with unbelievable episodes. I should stress, you really should only watch season two if you have experienced season one.

Season two picked up in the aftermath of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) being dumped by her married Derek “McDreamy” (Patrick Dempsey) and turning to drink and one night stands in the hope of getting over him. In so doing, she also broke the heart of her long-time admirer and friend, George (TR Knight), and threatened to alienate herself from her fellow interns. Meanwhile career-fixated y Cristina (Sandra Oh) finds her relationship with Dr Burke (Isaiah Washington) getting ever more serious, while Izzie (Katherine Heigl) pairs up and then breaks up with the roguish Alex (Justin Chambers) before falling in love with heart patient Denny.

This is compelling viewing. It's got everything you could want in a show: an array of characters to follow, characters that are flawed. Intense medical drama, but also witty dialogue, humorous scenarios, and character involvement. This is every great show rolled into one; Scrubs, ER, Ally McBeal etc…

  Grey's Anatomy - Series Two
Review created: 01/12/08

I agree with others that you have to watch series one to really appreciate series two, all I can sum it up with is: joy, pain, heartache, laughter, intrigue, suspense, pride, shock and most of all tears, lots and lots of tear. A must have. Brill!

  Greys anatomy positive review

Bought for the wife, not seen her since, in front of the box pretty much full time!. She loves the fact that each episode follows right on from the previous one so she doesn't even have to reach for the remote! The series has a magic blend of humour, romance and intrigue. This box set has so much in it, really impressed. Now just have to wait for series 4 to be released.

  Too many fake box sets
Review created: 07/07/08
by:

Great series BUT ......Bought two series of Grey's Anatomy from the same seller. BOTH box sets were fake. Good fakes, but fakes non the less. He's still selling them even though I pointed it out to him. I feel sorry for the other buyers who didn't properly check out what they'd bought.I was refunded but still, he knowingly sells fakes. He claims they're original but how can they be ? Supposedly, they are region 1 US. However, no region coding and no copyright protection was found ! So, original ? Absolutely not. Plus, the obvious signs. Blurred images on disc, gold discs not silver. If you bought one of these box sets. CHECK them. You may have bought a fake. A fake that you've paid top money for when in reality, there are Chinese website selling these fakes for approx £7 delivered !!!

  Grey's Anatomy Series 2
Review created: 08/06/08
by:

The medical drama's second season could be diagnosed as bipolar; in other words, it got much worse and much better at the same time. Whiny, self-involved surgical intern Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), arguably the weakest spot in the otherwise likeable ensemble, had already left viewers annoyed. But season two, in which Meredith coped with being dumped by her married McDreamy (a.k.a. neurosurgeon Derek, a.k.a. Patrick Dempsey) by excessive drinking, sleeping around, gazing like a sad puppy and--unforgivable!--breaking the heart of longtime admirer/friend George (the cuddly T.R. Knight), could have alienated audiences for good. (Seriously, sometimes you want to shake the girl and feed her some cookies.) Thankfully, what Meredith's storyline threatened to derail was held together by some emotional episodes, including "Into You Like a Train," in which a pair of strangers are impaled together on a metal pole, and "Much Too Much," featuring a mother's quintuplets in critical condition. But the standout show that turned Grey's Anatomy into a television force came with the January 2006 post-Super Bowl episode, a two-parter involving a "code black" lockdown when a live bomb is housed inside a patient.

Romance also remained key to the staff at Seattle Grace: Steely Cristina (Golden Globe winner Sandra Oh) softens, to her great dismay, as her relationship with Dr. Burke (Isaiah Washington) gets serious; Izzie (Katherine Heigl) pairs up, then breaks up, with Alex (Justin Chambers, the villain of the cast if you had to name one) before falling in love with flirty, tender heart patient Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Derek and estranged wife Addison (Kate Walsh, who somehow managed to win over Meredith-McDreamy fans despite being the Other Woman) make attempts at fixing their marriage, and Dr. Bailey (Chandra Wilson, easily a standout) tries to balance a medical career with mommyhood. Even George finds a new love with orthopedic surgeon Callie (Sara Ramirez). The season wraps up with a weeper of a two-part finale, set at the hospital during a "prom" (it's complicated). But with the fancy gowns and tuxes, tears and romantic tension, leading to a crossroads for Meredith and Derek, you can bet the episodes are a delight for any Grey's fan. The show also continues to rely heavily on narration (not a good thing) and soundtracks (a good thing), using tracks from artists before they hit it big (KT Tunstall, Brandi Carlisle, Snow Patrol).

  Grey's anatomy complete season 2
Review created: 30/01/08

The set starts with the last episode of season 1 which brings you right back into the drama....and you get a lot if drama. No more interruptions due to commercial breaks and having to wait for the next episode...unpack you tissues cause there are going to be a lot of tears.
I liked the extras included as they give you a deeper insight in some characters as well as some background information (creation of "red mist").

Excellent set, highly recommendable for every Grey's fan... brilliant for a rainy weekend on the couch.

I bought it as I want to collect all of the boxsets and it was well priced. It is a fantastic programme showing both the medical and private lives of the characters and you can't help but get involved in the prgramme.
