Disappointing second coming

The striking photograph on the cover and the much-advertised 2006 boded well. However, a large proportion of the contents are derived from yet another compilation released by EMI in 1989 and, presumably, they appeared in full before even that.
Essentially, of course, the contents are well played by one of the country's foremost military bands and those contents range widely from splendid nineteenth century traditional German marches, through American circus marches of a similar vintage to theme music from blockbuster films of recent years.
One slightly different offering is the theme entitled "Piper in the Meadow", used some years ago for the BBC's "Mr Smith's Country Garden" (?), featuring the late horticulturalist, Geoffrey Smith.
Another irritation is that the liner notes are incomplete, giving some details only of the last five tracks, out of eighteen. A request to Delta Music, the current publishers, for the missing elements has remained unacknowledged after several weeks.
