The Great Escape (DVD 2002)

The great escape is an absolute classic, I have always had a copy, in one shape or form, recorded from telly, VHS video, and now DVD, available to watch in the house. I have probably watched the film from start to finish 50 times, it never grows old.It has the magic effect of taking me back to when I was a small boy at christmas, and all the memories of those special times that came with it, before we grew up.
I have, even pre-great escape, had a great respect for what the "Troops" of WW2 sacrificed for us, and what they endured, I feel a great sense of pride to know that all of the allies were prepared to make a greater sacrifice than we could ever imagine, watching the movie gives me an insight to this!The whole package is made complete by the fact it is based on actual events, and I suspect too, characters!

This is a classic movie, based upon a true story, this dvd actually provided both the MGM version and a copy based upon the history channels factual account and hence is a very good dvd

without adoubt the best war movie of all time seen this film that many time i have lost count never ever get bored with it defialitely in my top five films of all time

i think with ebay read what feed back the seller has but as for this seller i think they are brilliant ....not like some ebayers they take ages on delivery

bought the film for a present for my partner. not watched the film yet. wanted the film as its a classic and only had it on video.

THIS IS MY PARTNERS FAVOURITE FILM WHEN I SEEN IT TO BUY ON DVD I JUMPED AT THE CHANCE TO BUY IT, WE HAVE TAPED IT AND THE TAPE HAS BEEN WATCHED SO MANY TIMES IT IS UNWATCHABLE.WITH HAVING THE DVD HE CAN WATCH IT TO HIS HEARTS CONTENT.

i love the film as it is a brilliant classic war film where we beat, the gerrys at there own game. the actors where brilliant and some of the scenery was also good,but the best part of the fim was mcqueen and the bike scenes.

i wanted it oon the dvd format because it fits better into my collection and is the 2disc version that i have, been serching for for a while know and couldnt find it at the right price. all in all a brilliant picce of filming.

great film cant beat a classic its a film that will never stop appealing to young and old great bike scene a piece of history cant say a bad thing except stevev mquuen was wrong to include the bike scene just for hes self never was a real part of the great escape

I had this film on video, then saw it on dvd, just had to get it. this has got to be one of the BEST movies ever made. I have seen it hundreds of times but still really enjoy it . GREAT BUY FROM A GREAT E-BAYER.

THE BEST CLASSIC OF ITS TIME. BOUGHT FOR MY SON AGED 15 AS HAD NEVER SEEN IT. WHICH HE THOUGHT IS WAS GREAT, COMING FROM A TEENAGER, IT MUST BE GOOD.

Basing this on real life events makes this more compelling than ever, when youre a prisoner of war, escape is the next best thing to getting back and fighting it. Planning escape has been attemted many times before, but to plan 3 escape routes from a seemingly unable fort is pure genious. Get caught in one tunnel, you still have 2 more to work on... watch and be in awe as each character takes on a specific job to make the whole escape plan work.
