I watch it like 2 times a week and it doesnt get old.
Chunk is so cool.

The Goonies has been a big favourite of mine for years and it is one of my most watched dvd's in my collection.
There were so many great being released as I was a child in the eighties and the era is definitely my favourite.
If you remember this film and you haven't seen it for a while,then go and grab yourself a copy and take a trip back to the eighties!

A family adventure classic from start to buccaneering finish, The Goonies is a cinematic treasure trove of breathtaking action, dazzling effects and shiver-yer-timbers thrills!

After watching this movie as a kid myself, it seemed the right thing to do to get a copy for my kids.
They wern't dissapointed, and neither was I, still as brilliant as the first time I saw it.
Not exactly PC anymore, but that's what makes it such a classic.
As great now, as it was in 1985!

This film will put a smile on your face whatever your age. This is one of the best family films to be made. Directed by Steven Speilberg, is exciting, but watching a group of friends run around with a map looking for treasure is what we would all love to do as a child.

This is a fun film from a fun era (The 80's). Look out for Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings) and 80's child actor Corey Feldman. This is a great buy!

I love this film because there is no horrible violence or swearing in it which is maybe why it is my 5 year old sons favourite film as a progression from kids tv as the pirate stuff makes it exciting. Its also a great film to watch together as a family.

We bought this for our 8 year old nephew as my husband and i had seen it as kids and thought it was fab.Great family (older children)fun film.a must see!

Everyone should see this film! Wether you're 8 or 80 it is soooo brilliantly casted, directed and produced its unbelievable!!! If you dont know or cant remember the plot its as follows;

A group of friends (The Goonies) are about to have their houses demolished by evil millionaires to make way for a golf course. BUT, on like the day before they have to leave they go into the attic to discover... a TREASURE MAP (what else)!!! So, off they go to find the treasure and on their way encounter the 'Fratellis' or the main bad guys in the film. Anyway it turns out they're keeping a mutated man in their basement who they befriend later. Eventually they discover the sectret entrance to a series of tunnels leading to the treasure. BUT... before that they face ancient traps, magic skeleton pianos and some (really really fake plastic) bats.

The absolute magic moment for me though is when they are sliding down these watery tunnels and they drop out into an underground lake cove thing. And when they turn round... they see an enormous pirate ship!!! (Great touch) Anyway, they find the treasure but of course the Fratelli's have been following them all the way and when they catch up with them, take all the 'rich stuff' they have found.

Eventually they get out of the cave with the help of the man in the basement (Sloth) and tell the police, who obviously dont believe them until they see the pirate ship itself sailing magically away!

Great story, absolutely timeless but it does help being directed by Richard Donner and produced by Steven Spielberg. Plus, the soundtrack includes songs by the uber groovy Cyndi Lauper.

Living as we all now do, in a world where politics and religion, greed and violence permeate every last know crevice of our lives, our tv viewing, our newspapers and radio, there remains in our distant memories a reminder of when life was simple, fun and innocent.
Enter The Goonies. Arguably an all time classic. Everyone has seen it, and everyone loves it. You can even buy Chunk's 'confession' on a huge canvas on Ebay, I did! Clips abound on You Tube.
If you have been living on another planet for the past twenty years, The Goonies is the often told story of a group of schoolkids taking on the adult baddies. Spielberg handled this absolutely brilliantly. It is non-stop action Indiana Jones style, massive amounts of original humor, and a cast that looks like it was bred for the parts. The cinematography is stunning, and this isn't one of those movies that has been 'padded out'. It is a genuinely good all action, laugh a second, DVD.
It has those rare qualities that endear it to children and adults alike, which makes it perfect family viewing. It will never go out of fashion, and will always be remembered by all who have seen it.
If you see a copy then buy it, it doesn't matter if you are six or sixty, it will be money well spent.

this is a brilliant funny family film it is one of my favourites from years ago and still is anyone who has not watched this film is really missing out this is a must see for all ages

This was in it`s time a super film.Today it`s still good entertainment but not what younger viewers want to see....Still well worth a look you never know and what a hoot..

A good all rounder for that lazy sunday family movie. All ages will enjoy the light hearted humour and giggles. Suit all ages of children. Easy fun story a bit like the favous five adventures!!!

This movie was the start of my lifelong desire for gadgets and everything related.

Data for me is an icon that promotes creativity in the minds of both young and old.

Because of how much I loved this movie, and the editing bugs it has, I waited a long time just to find out "WHAT OCTOPUS?!" :P

Go Goonies! Thankyou for showing the beauty of living a childhood with guts, with fun and with an open heart... As it should be.

The movie opens with a family of criminals known as the Fratellis – domineering elderly matriarch Mama Fratelli (Anne Ramsey) and bumbling son Francis (Joe Pantoliano) – staging a dramatic prison break for Francis' incarcerated brother Jake (Robert Davi), who feigns suicide and knocks out the prison guard before letting himself out of his cell with the keys.

The main characters of the story – the "Goonies", a ragtag group of young misfits – are then individually introduced in brief vignettes during the Fratellis' high-speed getaway. The police are hot in pursuit of them, but the Fratellis manage to escape thanks to the fact that they were able to disappear among a crowd of other four-wheel drive vehicles that were taking part in a race along a nearby beach.

The story then shifts focus onto Michael "Mikey" Walsh (Sean Astin), an adolescent depressed by the knowledge that, the next morning, his father will sign a contract allowing greedy developers to foreclose on the Goon Docks (with plans to demolish the community and redevelop the site of the houses with a golf course). Along with his friends Richard "Data" Wang (Ke Huy Quan), Lawrence "Chunk" Cohen (Jeff Cohen), and Clark "Mouth" Devereaux (Corey Feldman), a restless Mikey rummages through the family attic and finds an old treasure map supposedly leading to the secret treasure of legendary 17th century pirate One-Eyed Willie. Inspired by the possibility of a means to save their homes from demolition, Mikey, Data, Mouth and a reluctant Chunk run off on a quest to follow the map and find One-Eyed Willie's stash.

I brought this dvd because this film was part of my child hood, you became part of the adventure in a childs mind, I still enjoy the film as a adult and will always watch when it is screened on tv. My children now enjoy what I enjoyed as a child and watch over and over again. I would highly recommend this film for your children full of adventure, try it out on your 7+ children.

I have been a fan of this film for as long as i remember, i saw a clip of it on the tv and thought 'i've got buy it' even on DVD it still has its vintage feel, it is a funny, feel good film that will make every member of the family laugh, ALOT!, even the story is believable, for me the character highlights are chunk and sloth, they make a brilliant double act and the scene with the chocolate is priceless! This film is a must have!

I bought the dvd because of the kidd in me, the goonies is the best kids film ever made i own it on vcr but i have left it over in the states.

the children have this on video so i thought i would update it by byeing the dvd for them.

I saw this film years ago and it is still as good every time I watch it brilliant. I played it for my grandaughter who is four and she is hooked now and want's to play it all the time.

this is a child hood favorite film of mine, so thats the reason i just had to buy it.Its a great family film that you can watch over and over again. On this dvd it has extra bits on, like the out takes which are very funny.

One of those childhood classics you can bring into your new/own family and relive it with your kids/grandkids for all of time. A bit cheesy but can never be outdated. One you can watch all the time and never get bored. Excellent timeless classic.

I have watched this movie over a hundred times and never get bored of it. Maybe it strikes a cord with the child within all of us. Excellent all around fun for the whole family. A superb feel good movie. Full of adventure, laughter and innocence.

I bought this as a present for my son's friend. It is a great kids film although I must admit I do like it myself. I would recommend this film if you like variation of humour, pirates, criminals and of course the Goonies themselves. Great film.
