Gone In 60 Seconds (DVD 2001)

As you can see from my reviews there are no half measures. I either love them or hate them, but then again I normally only watch the genres i like.

This film is full of action and is extremely entertaining. I think it is one of Cage's better films.

It has fantastic cars, great race scenes and a good cast.

i would probably give this 9 out of 10.

Plot -
Car theft in Long Beach went down 47% when Randall "Memphis" Raines walked away from the life. He gets dragged back into it by assuming the job his brother Kip screwed up for stolen-car broker Raymond Calitri: steal 50 exotic cars and have them on a container ship by 8 AM Friday morning, and he got this news on a Monday. With Calitri threatening to kill him and Kip, and the police GRAB unit breathing down his neck, Memphis reassembles his old crew and attempts to pull off the logistically impossible.

Great film and keeps you watching all the time waiting for the next scene, so take the phone off the hook as you don't want to miss anything 10/10.anyway memphis raines(cage)thought he left the fast lane behind until he,s forced out of retirement to save his brother.

This is a must if you like to be on the edge of your chair watching a high octane action film, main star is Nicholas Cage with many other top stars.
Can it be done 50 cars with his crew in one night to save his brother's life.

Kip Raines, a young car thief, was contracted to steal 50 specific cars but something went wrong. Now the man who hired him, Raymond Calitri, wants his head. When his brother, Memphis, once a great car thief, who retired a few years ago, learns of this, he comes back to town to see if he can help his brother. The only thing that will appease Calitri is if the order is fulfilled. So Memphis has to assemble his old crew, and he has to do the job in a few days. And a cop who hounded him, upon learning of his return, is keeping an eye on him. And another car thief, whom he competed with before wants to get the Calitri job, and is telling Memphis to back off, but he won't.

Action films like this are hardly brain surgery. But, based on a 1974 original, this version of "Gone In 60 Seconds" is in desperate need of a service.

Nicolas Cage is Randall 'Memphis' Raines, an ex car thief brought out of retirement when dodgy Christopher Eccleston lures Memphis' brother Kip (Ribisi) into a car boosting scam.

To save his bro, Raines has a task: to steal 50 cars in one night and deliver them to Eccleston to ship overseas. Not as easy as it sounds, even for an old pro like Memphis, so he sets about regrouping his old crew, including Otto (Duvall) and Sway (Jolie). The clock is ticking - can they do it?

Well, what do you think? It's an engaging premise, but somewhere along the line it all goes wrong. Every character bar Cage is barely introduced and what should be a constant adrenaline rush is reduced to a few measly car chases.

The dialogue is so cheesy it needs crackers, which means you are waiting in vain for some high-speed action that barely ever comes. Rather, the film-makers seem intent on just looking at the undoubtedly expensive hardware and saying "isn't it pretty?", which has limited appeal to those of us who aren't car fanatics.

Cage stepped into the $20 million club with this film and he is the only one who has anything to do. Vinnie Jones has a supporting role as The Sphinx, one of the stupidly-monikered crew who also happens to be mute. But while the hardman acts as something of a curio, it's hardly worth forking over your hard-earned cash for.

Love this film , already had it but lost the it so had to buy another one , it is my little boy and husbands favourite film, bought it because it is cheaper than the shops and i could not find one near me ,

Excellent film it just so fast and pacy. Memphis Raines has to return to the job he gave up before to save the life of his younger brother.if he doesn't his brother will die. He only has 3 days to do it. Will he pull it off?
A movie that you will never get tired of watching.

this film has to be one of my boyfriend fav's but he only had it on dvd so i had to buy it for him.
the flim is ace and the flim is a good fast pace...............................the cars the chase's are mind blowing.
a classic flim for car and non car fans.

Damn good film this with a soundtrack second to none.

Old nic cage is the mastermind behind the car thefts but the way he does it is nothing short of a miracle.

good family movie that has a strong cast and wants a sequel so we can see more.

I love this film, its got to be one of the best films out. One film you can watch over and over again.

like the flmn good action in it being after the dvd for ages like the shelby mustang gt500 whats in it

Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.

this is a film everyone should see its a film with something for everyone its all about boosting or car jacking and its all about how a brother saves the other from a fait of death buy boosting all the cars in one night

Action all the way as our favourite heroes do battle in their cars against time. To be more accurate the heroes are playing bad guys being rather naughty taking cars. While such behaviour cannot be encouraged, for the movies and for our enjoyment, they are forgiven. Super film, don't miss it if you like cars.

Action packed movie adventure, staring the great Nicholas Cage. A must for any fan, and the cars are a bonus.

I bought this item for my daughter as a present. I like the film myself,
I also liked looking at all the different prices people aks for the same
item and the differences in the cost of postage. The only thing i dislike is that some people charge over the odds for post and packing.

This is the ideal petrol heads movie it has everything from Ferrari's to Jaguars, The climax is off coarse Eleanor. Although this car(Mustang GT500)never looked quite like that the movie makers have done Carol Shelby proud.
I bet he wished fibre glass was available in 1967.
Even if you dont like cars that much its got Angelina Jolie & Vinney Jones.

I love this film! It great and has me on the end of my seat all the time! I love the car that is stolen at the end of the film and also i enjoy the car chaces and the hot birds ;)

this item was deliverd very fast and was packed well. but the only thing that upset me was that i paid for this dvd very fast but was not awarded with any feedback

I love the film its an amazing film from start to finish, its just fast and furious, mind blowing. They picked the right actors for the film and all have been put in the right characters. The music for the film is dramatic and helps emphasis the film and what is happening in certain parts, the many cars are amazing especially the stunts with them.

This film is a must see and have for anyone who loves films.

FAST MOVING MOVIE! FILLED WITH NOT JUST FAST CARS, BUT FAST EXOTIC CARS! THEN YOU HAVE CAGE ALONGSIDE JOLIE AND ACTION, ACTION, ACTION!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
