"... very talented in whatever they do".

This is a very good album, but it fairly different from their first one. They seem to have delved into a slightly more commercial area here, but they still get away with it, because they are very talented in whatever they do.
They have done a wide range of sounds here and some tracks will appeal more to others; like Strict Machine, for example. I prefer the slower Black Cherry piece and the one that follows. I also like fast upbeat songs, too.
All in all, they are still original enough for me and I thought this was a good buy. I got it a bit cheaper on eBay as well (less than a fiver).

I bought this album when it came out but inexplicably lost the copy i had a short time ago, so i had to find myself another one. I didn't want to do without this in my c.d collection, Goldfrapp have got progressively better as time has gone by but i would say out of there albums to date this is probably their best and my favourite, there 1st album felt mountain would come a close 2nd. for anyone new to this band and wants to find out a bit more about them and their sound this would be a great introduction - well worth a try!

golfrapp well what can i say?
i recently discovered this band and im blown away.
the album is more chilled than the latest ( supernature) but has all the qualities stunning voice with electro backing tunes.
its a god album worth a listen to . but if i was to choose any golfrapp album it would be supernature. listen out for some truely strange lyrics in both albums.goldfrapp should come with a warning buy one album want the lot!!!!!
with love niki

I was only introduced to Goldfrapp quite recently, with the ablum Felt mountain. I loved it so much, just had to have Black cherry as well! I was not dissapointed, this album is just as good as Felt Mountain, and comes a close second! Allison Goldfrapp's voice is soothing and Sexy at the same time, and this album is most certainly one of my favourites!!

Great album, love 'strict machine' and 'deep honey'. Wasn't too keen on one or two of the slower numbers such as 'black cherry'... so i would give it a four out of five. Everybody keeps saying that this album was impossible to top but it is possible, because 'supernature' is absolutely brilliant! It's practically perfect. But this one's great too. I would recommend anyone with a good taste in music buy this album

  Goldfrapp's best to date.

This album was somewhat underrated at the time of its release and it is hard to see exactly why. Most of the tracks start in a minimal fashion, but slowly build to a lush and almost symphonic grandeur that envelops the listener - even if the lyrics are a bit... erm... suggestive! This is certainly true of the opener "Crystaline Green", which could be said to start in a rather boring fashion, but by the end of that track I dare the listener to call the track boring! Highlights include that track, "Hairy Trees" and "Strict Machine", the latter of which Rachel Stevens seemed to have taken note of when she released "Some Girls"!!! For me this is certainly the band's masterpiece, it is difficult to see how they will top this.
