Girls Aloud - The Sound Of Girls Aloud (The Greatest Hits) (CD 2006)

Contains all those catchy tracks that you love to hate. So maybe it isn't that cool to like Girls Aloud but they really are very good, there's no denying it. Funnily enough, my least favourite tracks are the cover versions like 'Jump' and 'I'll Stand By You', not because they haven't covered them well but rather that they don't need to do covers when they produce such superb material of their own. I bought this primarily to play at full volume whilst peddling away on my exercise bike and I find I just have to sing along even though I may be gasping for breath. A wonderful CD with a real feel good factor - always puts me in a great mood :-)

I bought this CD as i dont mind listening to Girls Aloud, their tunes have always being catchy, although i bought this CD in 2008 it is 2 years old but these songs never die out, I'm actually going to see them in June at Sheffield arena and cant wait and i must say its not only girls that like them but boys do too for obvious reasons!
The album cover is plain on the front but has a picture inside of them all and then it has a picture of each track single cover and when it was released and at what chart number they each reached, It also has messages of thanks etc from the girls themselves, The songs on the album are as follows:- 1. Sound of the underground, 2. Love machine, 3. Biology, 4. No good advice, 5. I'll stand by you, 6. Jump, 7. The show, 8. See the day, 9. Wake me up, 10. Life got cold, 11. Something kinda Oooh, 12. Whole lotta history, 13. Long hot summer, 14. Money, 15. I think we're alone now.
I'm not usually into girl bands but as you can tell from the tracks listed above it is a good all round CD.

Very good selection of their greatest hits.... can be played over and over, this is a great choice of cd for every Girls Aloud fan... a good mix of ballads and pop songs.

All of the great hits from girls aloud on one cd, great feel good music, catchy tunes to jump around to. Makes you feel good, very fun CD !!! A Must have in any girls music collection !!

What really got me interested in buying this album was when TMF had a feature called 'Here come the girls' and it showed all of Girls aloud's videos. After I watched them that heightened my interest after being a bit of a fan since they began. In my opinion they are the best girl group in the UK, for sure.
This album is a great buy for any Girls aloud fan and a must have too. If you love girls aloud then you'll love this, if you don't then you'll hate it.

As the album only has singles up to 2006, this means that some of their good songs from recent times are missing. The only way is to buy the album that they are on. Watch out for Girl's alouds new album which has a soulful 60's sound. The promise sounds great so it would be interesting to hear what the rest of the album is like.

This cd is a must if you are a fan and have not yet bought it. Like the girls themselves the tracks are bubbly and full of fun and you will not be disappointed. I dare you to play it and not be dancing round the room.

An array of cathcy tunes that my daughter loves, we went to see them live and what a bunch of lovely girls, we just had to buy all the cds. This CD has a nice mix of songs, that you can play day in, day out, reccommeded to anyone who likes pop/soft rock

If you like pure pop, which I do, you will love this collection of hits from Girls Aloud. It wasn't until I purchased their latest album (as I really like their recent stuff) that I really started to realise that I did, in fact, love their older stuff. So I then purchased this, I knew most of the songs of course and instantly I was humming away. It really is a cd to put on if you are feeling a bit down in the dumps or if you just want to have a sing song to. It really is just what it says on the packet, pop and more pop and doesn't try and being anything else! I know my husband will make some comment about my purchase (if its not Depeche Mode or REM etc then it can't be classed as music according to the other half!!!!) I think Girls Aloud and the whole package is supposed to be taken a bit tongue in cheek and that is definitely one of the reasons they have stayed around for so long compared to some of the other reality show stars. So if you don't take yourself too seriously and just want a good sing a long or a boogie in the mirror then purchase it without a second thought!

What a buy! This Cd goes from the beginning of Girls Aloud career - 'Sound of the underground' - through some awsome hits, such as 'Jump', 'Biology' & more recently - 'The Show', 'Love Machine' & 'Something kinda ooooh'.
My personal fave is 'Biology', but it's DEFINATLY one of those cd's that you don't need your 'skip' button for.
A DEFINATE must for any cd collection - It's hard not to sing-a-long even if u're a hardened rocker!
Also this is a great 'getting ready to go out' CD - Buy, & U WON'T be diappoinnted

I will be the first to declare I despise manufactured pop in all its forms. Girls Aloud, when they burst upon the "scene" six years ago, fall under that category. However they have proved many wrong with theit sraying power and the consistency of their output. Celeb mags only need to put their Christian names on the cover to sell. I almost like them now, but still dislike the fact that they are manufactured. It is their songwriting team deserve awards though, as some of their tracks (in particular "The Show") set the standard of perfect inoffensive pop. I bought this CD for the wife (honest!) and she loves it for the happy, joyful, breezy tunes it flows through our house. Fans of GA don't need a review. They will snap up their 21st Century sound regardless.
