This is a really good CD for when I just want to chill, its easy listening with a few catch tracks. Sam's voice is unique and the use of instrument is complimentary to this. "War of The Worlds" probably the most well known song on this album is really good and I love it but there are others that I feel are better. This is not the sort of album you regret buying because you only like one track, it is well balanced throughout. My favourate track is "Call Me Ishmael" its really catch without being out of place on the album. "An Oak Tree" is another good one and the "Lighthouse Keeper" is another of their best, you can feel the bounce of his voice as it comes from the speakers. So yea its a great album, if your into alternative stuff, you can appreciate a good vocalist and are looking for something a little less mainstream buy it!

) I bought the CD for my daughter after hearing the single "I-Spy" on the Radio. The tunes are very melodic and relaxing. Each song is understandable and easy to sing along with. Very well written. Definitely a new talent with a long way to go.

This is the first full length album from the Southend Singer/songwriter Sam Duckworth, and it is fabulous! Gorgeous acoustic guitar (with some of the most achingly beautiful introductions I have heard in a long time), close vocal harmonies, and a backing track from a laptop computer!
Sam's voice is reminiscent of Billy Bragg (especially on War of the Worlds and Whitewash is Brainwash), with touches of Bright Eyes and even echoes of Damien Rice (in terms of his guitar work). There is an ironic edginess to his lyrics which works well with his uncluttered and clever musical arrangements.
I think this guy is going to be really big. The melodies are haunting and beautiful, and work well against the rough edge of his vocals.
This is a good debut album and I think this guy's second will be even better!
I would recommend this album to anyone who likes acoustic guitar with a new edge! Buy it!
