Gerry Anderson's Four Feather Falls - The Complete Series (DVD)

I bought this item despite not remembering it when it was first shown on television, purely because of my liking for the later series of Gerry Anderson such as Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlett, and Joe 90 as a child.

Firstly it must be said that I have never been a fan of Westerns or Musicals, and each and every 15-minute episode features the hero singing one of about 5 or 6 different songs, and begins with title music which seems to have little to do with the images on screen. That aside I found the idea of the story a good one - the hero is a sheriff who helps a young Native American boy, and is rewarded by the chief with four magic feathers. The feathers enable him to be able to talk to his faithful companions, a horse and a dog, and for his guns to fire on their own when he desires. A succession of regular 'baddies' are foiled by Sheriff Tex Tucker, ably abetted by his horse, his dog, and the friendly townsfolk.

Worth owning if you remember the series, if only for the fact that until the release of the DVD this series had remained hidden for 40 years. Cannot be expected to hold the attention of the young target audience today (unless they are fascinated by the obvious puppet strings, like cheesy songs, or are addicted to black and white television), but may well appeal to those who watched it avidly the first time around, who would today be in their fities!

gerry anderson is my favorite producer and i have been after them for nearly 30 years and since i came on here i have almost got them all cheers keep it up couldnt do without you now merry chritmas

Every episode in a box set,very nostalgic,most enjoyable trip down memory lane,decent quality too for such an old programme.

this was a gift for my dad as it was from his childhood, i sat down and watched the whole dvd and thought it was brilliant. if anyone else has watched this amazing show then they will aggree with me in saying it is truely a classic show

i have always held the memory of four featherfalls in my head since been a kid.
i never thought i would ever see the series again .the quality of the dvd's is
spot on.
