A great collection of performers as you've never heared them before,my favourite has got to be the Sean Connery version of 'In My Life'.Jim Carey as The Walrus is just as you'd expect from Mr Carey.
As a dedicated Beatles fan I felt my collection would benefit from this addition.
Everybody who hears this album seems to like it,not everyone will like every track
but overall a good album.Well worth a listen.

) This is a wonderful album which uses some very unusual performers to cover some brilliant Beatles track. I really enjoyed Celine Dion singing 'Here, There and Everywhere' and Jim Carrey singing 'I am the Walrus'. Only George Martin could come up with the idea of Sean Connery to read the words of 'In my life' to the music. A truly brilliant album.

) I remember seeing a T.V. program showing the making of this CD. It was so full of laughter, fun and joy. All the varied artists, asked personally by George Martin, to contribute a Beatles number, were each totally honored. They all enjoyed the experience so much; and it shows in their chosen piece. This is a must for all Beatles fans, truly. I bought it for a friend who is an avid fan, and he enjoyed it so much, he buys it too for all his friends, especially those he knows love the Beatles. These are not your average covers - they really produce the essence of the original song, along with a definite uniqueness - and so added bonus~enjoyment - of the individual artist. Buy it - you will not be disappointed, and, it will have that mysterious affect of growing on you, the more you play it - like so many of the classic albums do.

A Day In The Life was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. They hardly ever make 'em like this anymore. Once upon a time, as lovingly documented on priceless collections like GOLDEN THROATS, non-singers like William Shatner, Joey Bishop and Sebastian Cabot would try their hand at "vocalizing," with unintentionally hilarious results. By the '90s such folks were far too self-conscious for that sort of endeavor, and the novelty well ran dry. When Beatles producer George Martin decided it was time to make his own album, he obviously remembered his beginnings as a successful comedy producer. He assembled the entertaining, (intentionally) side-splitting IN MY LIFE. Calling upon the likes of Robin Williams, Jim Carrey and Sean Connery to interpret classic Beatles tunes will surely earn Martin an eternal place in the Dr. Demento Hall of Fame, and a reputation as a man confident enough to poke fun at his own musical legacy.
