Garmin nuvi 250 Car GPS Receiver

After spending many an hour deciding whether to but a Garmin or Tom Tom finally went for the Garmin Nuvi 250. Very easy unit to use + the bonus of European mapping and fixed speed camera alerts. Don't pay the extra for the widescreen version unless you're an avid business user. If you go off track readjusts itself immediately - no problems at all. Thoroughly recommend to anyone and if you get lost in the pub it will even direct you home blind drunk. 5* rating excellent value for money.

garmin are to satellite navigation what mercedes benz are to cars, they are the original and in my opinion the best , the nuvi 250 is no exception. i have been using thier products at sea for 20 years and thanks to garmin i,m still here to write this review,

Garmin Nuvi 250. Very easy unit to use and very useful for our travelling in France with the bonus of European mapping and fixed speed camera alerts. Mrs Garmin does try to cut corners if you do not set road preferences, which is understandable. She can get her kickers in a twist if you go off her planned route but responds very quickly to change. Great Garmin customer support and some free upgrades. The Nuvi 250 does everything I want and is recommended and you can tell her to shut up.

This is a great little gadget for getting around without getting lost. Don't know how I managed without it before! Takes a bit of learning, but after while it's very intuitive. If you live in a big city or take a lot of driving trips to unfamiliar places, it will save time and money (petrol) and will pay for itself after a few trips!

Tip for those who don't want to buy the wall charger (this is sold separately) - you can use any mini-USB charger (for example, a mobile phone or MP3 player charger, or even a USB cable connected to your laptop/PC) to charge it up at home.

Its cheap! Yet has all the features of the expensive sat navs. Good quality too. Reliable and easy to use. Recomend to people on small budgets.

this is an excellent sat nav,it is very easy to use and seems to be very accurate so far.The detour option is really handy for getting around traffic and works well.

The size of the garmin is just right, easy and clear to use. The voice feed back is clear. No concerns with this product, has made life better whilst trying to find places in London etc.

I only wanted a basic model and thats what I got.no problems. it has all the relative maps and speed camera information as part and parcel of the deal.

I bought the garmin 250 as it has continental maps pre loaded.This is a very smart and very thin little machine the instutions are very clear and concise also they are in plenty of time so you can position yourself in the correct lane.The touch screen menu is also very easy to use once you have turned it on it then searches for a saterlight once found and if you are at home it will ask if you want this as your final destination say yes and it will keep it in faverites.The poi`s are also very good particaly for a hole in the wall and petrol

Very easy to use....don't even need the instruction booklet! It looks stunning in pink and would make a great present.

Nothing at all to dislike, it is simple to use, works well and does "exactly what it says on the tin"

I've not had any other SatNavs, but I saw a Nuvi 200 in my friend's car and I knew than this one would be great for me.
Cuoldn't recomend highly enough, even if you have to pay the RRP, you won't be disapointed.

Hardware ok but maps out-of-date. Having spent £62.50 on purchase through ebay (about £20 saving against Amazon) I then had to spend £60 on bringing the maps up-to-date and, even then, only succeeded in updating the UK maps, not the European maps. Therefore, make sure that the maps are current before buying.

Easy to use even for a techy cripple like me, does what it says on the tin without fuss or unnecessary complexity. Plug and play - it really is that easy!

Great product , very easy to use and simple to understand . Fully charged battery lasts for approx. 4 hours ( just long enough for most journeys if , like me , you don't want the power lead draped across your dashboard )
Suction mount works very well ( no failures yet after 3 weeks of near constant use ! )
It is possible to fit an SD memory card to the Nuvi with pictures and music although I can't think of a reason why !!!
Only one thing I can see as a problem is the charging lead plug is quite bulky so may not sit correctly in some cigarette lighter sockets

While it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the newer and more expensive GPS systems it does exactly what it says on the tin. I would like to be able to be change between choosing faster time and shortest distance for each journey, rather than having to go into the settings menu to do it. Thats about the main problem though. Easy to use and easy to update (although pricey new maps and speed camera updates from Garmin).
Would definitely recommended.

Does what it says on the tin, easy to use, takes you where you need to go. Voice is unobstrusive and bland enough not to be irritating, interface is easy to navigate, display is easy to read.

This is a great product! But it can be expensive! I'm glad I found www.freeiphoneforme.co.uk where I got mine for free :)
