  Fuji Finepix S7000 Digital Camera

I bought the Fuji Finepix S7000 as it fell in my budget and the spec was very good.
On recieving the camera I (as all bloke do) when ahead and used it without looking at the instruction book! It's a very easy camera to use and was set up in no time. I took some pictures of my tropical fish tanks and reviewed them through the display. The results were stunning! Very clear and sharp with excellent colour saturation.
The battery useage is very poor but reading Fuji's website, there is a problem with this model. On emailing them about the problem they replied saying that they will send out a pre paid package for me to send the camera back to be upgraded at no cost to myself. This isn't in any way a new camera or model so first class service from them.
Would definitely consider buying another Fuji Finepix camera when upgrade time comes along.

FUJI S7000 DOSE IT GET ANY BETTER

I bought the Fuji S7000 as it fell in my budget as i had not got the £500+ to get a full DSLR .
I found the spec was very good , compared to some other makes.
This is a great camera for the money, the body of the camera paired with its lens makes for some brilliant, clear shots.

Once you have the hang of all the settings this camera has to offer, it is very easy to use.
If you can't get use to all the manual settings theres always AUTO mode where the camera does the settings it's self
I would even compare it to some DSLR cameras & say it is better.
I have found battery life to be good with re-chargeable battery's, lasting upto 8 hours shooting time!!!!!!!!!!!! not so good with non re-chargeable.
There is also a very good video recording setting as good as some video camera's .
I hope this helps someone .

  S7000 Prosumer digital camera
Review created: 14/02/08

I have had three of these, alwys regretting selling each one for something 'better', up to and including a Nikon D100.
The resolution colour balance, accurate focusing and ease of use makes this camera incredibly friendly whether you are a point and shoot in full auto, or careful entirely manual know what you're doing type of photographer.
This camera does pretty much anything you would ever need it to, don't be fooled by other cameras with gazillion pixels, I use this camera for work and on 3MP it prints up to A4 just as well as a film camera!
Manual speeds up to a staggering 1/10,000th of a second, macro and super macro down to 1cm, an optical and digital zoom, runs two different memory card (CF and XD) built in flash with different settings, including a red-eye reduction that really works, a nice clear viewfinder with built in dioptre correction, easy to use viewscreen also, overlay grid screen when shooting architectural.
Easy to use menus, instant viewing of what you just took, zoom in, zoom out, crop/trim/resize, easy erase, which checks you want to really do it before so no unhappy accidents...
Selectable colour balance, chrome, std, black and white, easy to change ISO, built in video in 2 speeds, simple navigation using mostly one joypad type of up/down/left/right with an OK switch in the middle. Look, if I can use it, you can use it, I could go on and on about it, but I have not got one bad thing to say about this camera; it's a useable size, has a great lens, loads of functions, reall natural colour rendition, good battery life (uses 4 AA, not rare and fancy Lithium Ion Unobtanium) so a spare set of rechargeables or Duracells will see you through an entire day's shooting and reviewing!
This is a great camera. It will help you make the most of your digital photography! If you want to see what it can do in macro, visit simonkingwildlife.com (a brilliant site anyway) go to forums, British Isles, and look up my posts from June 2007 entitled Spider and Moth, also Grass snake and Moth; by mistergirth. Look at the quality of those pics, at only 2MP!
Anyway, I cannot extol it's virtues too much, but I would recommend anyone to get one. mistergirth

Fujifilm Cameras and 64 bit computers
Review created: 21/01/07(updated 29/01/07)

A serious point to remember for all owners of computers with 64 bit Intel or AMD processors that Fujifilm have not produced any drivers for these processors and are not planning to do so. So when you plug in your camera with the USB cable it wont transfer pictures.
The only way to get your pics on your hard drive is with a separate card reader.

For the benefit of marinriftzonerider who thought this review was misleading, I am referring specifically to the 64 Bit versions of AMD and Intel processors, and not 32 Bit which he obviously has.
I repeat, the USB cable will not transfer data in a computer with a 64 bit processor.

One of the best buys ever
Review created: 08/10/08

OK, bought the Fuji FinePix camera as I was looking for a better standard of picture quality when printing on gloss paper. I read a couple of reveiws and decided that I'd give one a try. To my absolute delight, the picture quality was excellent. The seller had looked after this camera and it was in perfect working order without any marks. The prints were out of this world. I DID NOT adjust my peinter settings as this had been done previously. Just goes to show, when you use quality items the results are quality.
I even sent the seller a mail after trying out the camera, stating that I would have liked to be decriptive in the feedback but due to the limited characters this was not possible. Advise to all, forget about the high street high pixel camera's and just go for a quality camera. You'll never know the differance until you've seen it for yourself.
My own prints are as good as any I used to receive from the developers I USED to use....
