  FRIDAY 13th PART 2

I HAVE TO ADMIT I DID THIS THE WRONG WAY AROUND, I WATCHED PART 2 BEFORE THE ORIGINAL AND AS SUCH WOULD PROBABLY RATE THIS HIGHER THAN MOST PEOPLE BECAUSE OF IT. THE STORY OF 'THE BOY' JASON VORHEES REVENGE KILLING FOR HIS MOTHERS DEATH (WHO STRANGELY KILLED BECAUSE OF JASONS 'DEATH' IN THE ORIGINAL !) STARTS WITH THE DEATH OF THE ONLY SURVIVOR FROM THE FIRST ONE AND A JUMPY FLASHBACK BUT THEN SLOWS DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY TO INTRODUCE THE NEW VICTIMS. A LOT OF RED HERRINGS AND FALSE TRAILS BEFORE THE KILLING THEN OCCURS IN EARNEST. IF I HAD SEEN THE ORIGINAL FIRST THEN THIS WOULD BE AVERAGE FARE, AS I DIDN'T ITS BETTER !

Well what can I say ? If your a horror fan you'll love it, it was a great follow up to the original film & probably the best sequel, after this it all kind of went 3D..ish and then a lot worse.

Classic 80's American horror with young teenagers having fun on a camping trip. Jason stalks the camp, protecting his "neighbourhood" from the invasion of the outside world. Who ever dares to wonder beyond the boundaries risk a confrontation with Jason.....I enjoy movies which are creepy, unpredictable and keeps you at the edge of your seat, always hoping to get a glimpse of Jasons face. Easy viewing, thin plot and perfect night in movie.

  5/5 Excellent!

Story:
Operating under the assumption that the site near a particularly gruesome series of mass murders is the perfect place to open a summer camp for unsuspecting children, a fresh batch of teenage camp counselors return to the ill-fated Camp Crystal Lake five years after its most recent atrocities. Since the perpetrator of those crimes was decapitated by the only survivor (Adrienne King), the plucky teens ignorantly go about the business of reviving the camp, unaware that they are being stalked by an unseen figure who lives in the woods, waiting for the right opportunity to take bloody revenge.

Comments:
This time it's not the mother of jason, but jason itself who does the killing, he had been living in the woods for many years and is totally wild, he wears a hood over his face and not yet the ice hockey mask later to be his trade-mark.
awesome movie, watch this if you like freddy vs jason, you just HAVE to know the history. A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

  Friday The 13th Part 2
Review created: 16/02/09

This first sequel to Friday the 13th openswith mild panache when a summary recapitulation of the story so far ends with the sole survivor of the previous massacre being unexpectedly despatched by a new killer (the grief-crazed woman's supposedly dead son). The script then jumps five years, assembles a new set of victims at the summer camp, and repeats the gory carnage as before. The formula reached Part VIII by 1989. Cynically manipulative, stultifying in their sameness, they require no comment except that Part III was shot in 3-D, Part V (A New Beginning) toyed with being tongue in cheek, and Part VI (Jason Lives) took the rather desperate step of resurrecting its psycho like Frankenstein's monster.

  Classic

I've been a massive horror fan since i watched the lost boys at my friends house when we were in primary school and jason is without a doubt my all time favourite mass murderer (sounds wrong that!).
Admittedly like most on here i too watched these films the wrong way around and was under the impression jason was the original killer, clearly it wasn't though so i got a shock when his mother was just as tapped as he is!
This first appearance in the series for jason is without a doubt one of his best, he doesn't need to act, he doesn't need to worry about lines he just walks around and kills everyone and thats why we love him.
Rock on jason, rock on and kick arse i hope you never die and you're around when my kids get to my age, please god let the remake be great and not ruined like the poor Halloween attempt.

A very good sequel to the classic Friday 13th. Terrifying end sequence that I can only hope they re-create in the upcoming remake

Some People might not rate friday 13th as good, but as a big horror fan its up their with the like of childs play and halloween. During my time watching horror films( pretty much since i turned 18, am now 26)i had only watched friday 13th part 1,4 and 8.So getting hold of the 2nd part was a must in my mind. And i was happy(and a little scared lol) once i had watched the film because i was expecting him to be in a hockey mask. But no instead he had a old sack over his head instead. As the saying goes 'you cant keep a good man down' and i think that's true in the case of friday 13th part 2. Only difference is it's a film we are talking about and not a man, and not even a good one at that.As the story goes its the usual stalk and kill film. One by one the cast meet a grizzly end all of course for the one or two hero's(dam them)that save the day, well until the 3rd.Jason goes on killing spree in his fave haunt at camp crystal lake as the voice of his dead mother prompts him on to his next kill as a revenge for the death of his mother. And as if that wasn't enough it also turns out that she wants to continue to get her revenge on the people that let her son(jason voorhees) drown in camp crystal lake's lake. As i said earlier am a big horror fan, and although my fave genre tends to aim towards the zombie film end of the horror franchise, i still have room in my dark heart for the classics and low budget horror movies. But thats for another review(if am lucky). I have a long way to go to complete my dream of having the largest collection of horror films in the world. Ok well i can settle for the uk for now.
If i had to pick bits that i dis-liked i guess i would say the acting and camera from time to time. But i and some others would say that those attributes are what make a classic horror film a classic.
This film and the others in the friday 13th series in fact any similar horror film like this classic should be owned by any horror fan.
