With a leading name in personal electronic items, Franklin have this great electronic thesaurus - but its so much more. I was expecting just a thesaurus but it also features a spell correcter, cross word solver and a lot of games to play.
When entering a word spelling is not important as the unit guesses so you can enter a word as it sounds and it attempts to find the correct one. You can then press the up/down button to scroll through a list of alternatives in the thesaurus. The unit has a reasonable number of words in memory and although not large it is comparable to similar models and would be fine for the occasional user.
The cross word puzzle solver is a nice bonus - simply enter ? in place of unknown letters and the unit will provide possibilities for the word.
There are 10 games but I didn't really try them out - there are one or two good ones but the majority will probably be only of passing interest. It also has a calculator and phone book but it seems a bit clumsy to use these so I again didn't really try them out.
Although the display on this model is a bit dated it is still a low price and represents good value for the occasional user.
