What can i say?....This is the great man at his finest. You can always measure quality by the company it keeps and this awesome voice is right up there. Music fans should need no introduction to Frankie Miller, once described by Rod Stewart as, "the greatest white singer ever",
Frankie had nine chart albums between 72 and 86 including the hits ‘Be Good To Yourself’ and ‘Darlin’ . He is one of the legends of the British music scene, with the likes of Joe Cocker, Etta James, Cher, The Bellamy Brothers, Johnny Cash, Bob Seger and Ray Charles, covering his songs.
This killer CD has two cover versions, "He'll Have To Go" the Jim Reeves standard,
and "The Rose" as made famous by Bette Midler in the film of the same name. It also has Joe Walsh,
and Nicky Hopkins to name but two great players.
All recorded between 1991 and 1997 the songs are delivered with real soul, passion and flair.
Give it up for one of Scotland's finest! Be blown away by the voice. Be mesmerised by the songwriting.
Buy this record!!!

  FRANKIE MILLER Long way home
Review created: 02/06/06

Wrong time for Frankie Miller, this CD 'Long way home' shows how great he has been and I am sure with these songs and any other period of time he should have been a real star. Although Frankie shows his true talent for writing I still do not understand why the big times were just out of reach for such talent. This CD is a long way from the Full House days but with the same passion. Mr Miller has produced many records and I am sure with just a good luck should have made the big times. Back to this CD, each song is completely different starting out with the 'Guilty of the crime' which is followed by the 'Win lose or draw' track which I do think is one of his best, but each song tops the last, just listen to the words of 'You always saw the blue skies' and how moving this song is, if we all could do the same. Just let the CD run after 'Its a long way home' and you could be supprise how funny he can be but do not tell the Royals. I have known of Frankie Miller since before 1970 and if Rod Stewart made it so should Frankie Miller. Frankie Miller this CD and your songs in a different time would have made you a superstar, miss your talent but each CD I get of yours just suprises me more THANKS. John Turner (Tongy)
