Four weddings and a funeral has to go down as one of the most enjoyable and most successful British comedy ever. Written by Richard Curtis (Notting Hill) the film follows hopeless Charles (the extremely adorable Hugh Grant) who is forever going to other people’s weddings but is never actually the groom himself. He takes an interest in Carrie (Andie McDowell) who he meets at yet another wedding and through the course of the film they meet at a no. of social gatherings and the audience is left wondering “will they or won’t they get together.”
The casting is superb, Hugh Grant as always is charming and indeed very watchable but we can’t forget the supporting cast who play Charles’ friends. The only slight disappointment is Andie McDowell whose performance wasn’t electrifying in the least but the chemistry between her and Grant makes up for that.
Extremely funny and in places very moving, inparticular John Hannah’s emotional speech at the funeral. Along with Bridget Jones’ diary this is British comedy at it’s best.

I bought it because i had it on video years ago and lost it. I love the film as its a real feel good movie, and im a bit of a romantic at heart. The part where Bernard and Lydia get married is so funny, The whole movie is just really good. When i saw it on ebay i just had to have it and the plus was it was a bargain.

) This is a must have for everyone's DVD collection. A real classic; such a brilliant movie with a tongue in cheek look at what can happen at weddings of various types and the storeyline is second to none. Lots of fun and laughter guaranteed! We bought this DVD recently (having seen the movie some years ago) to watch before our very own wedding took place! :o)

Four weddings and a furneral
) I loved this film but hadn't seen it for ages. I have decided to get rid of my videos and replace them all with dvds. Watched this as soon as I could after it arrived ( with subtitles as bit of hearing problem ) great, really enjoyed it and had forgotten bits of the film. I would recommend anyone to watch it again and to enjoy it again. Great emotion, happiness and sadness, true life emotions and feelings.

A modern comedy classic, loved this film and it doesn't matter how many times you watch it, you still find someting new to laugh or cry about, moving funny, british, classic. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++

Fantastic DVD. We had the video but mislaid it. Happy sad story but well worth watching. Good viewing for all the family (when they are the apprpriate age of course!)

Hysterical film with some very poignant moments also. Hugh Grant is the archetypal Englishman not wishing to commit to marriage but who finds himself steered that way when all his friends are entering in to matrimony. Strong language from the outset ( my mum aged 70 was horrified in the cinema) but an outstanding British film with a genuinely feelgood factor.
Well worth a look and likely to remain in your dvd library for a very long time.

This is one of my favorite fims ever .I just love this film. I have it on video and DVD. If ever I am feeling a little low then out comes Four Weddings and A Funeral. Funny ,sad and humorous.
