Greatest Hits

This album (the 6th from The Foos) is just amazing. It almost sounds like a greatest hits album with the previous 5 being rehearsals for this one.
There are great stomping rock tracks, classic Grohl melodies, acoustic and piano based 'ballads'. As usual the musicianship is top drawer with Dave's guitar and Taylor's drums driving each track from start to finish.
"Pretender" has got to be one of thier best tracks in my opinion and it is textbook rock - with quite interludes, loud screaming vocals and song tempo/structure that I just love.
There are other tracks on the album that are reminiscent of the early days and follow this similar loud/quiet formula that works so well for the Foos. I am not going to list them and mark each song out of ten, the whole album is great and as I titled this review, it plays like a greatest hits...
Other stand out moments for me (apart from Pretender) are Statues, But Honestly and Summer's End..
My only disappointment is that I didn't see them on tour...
