CGI offering fails to impress

A limp, trite and instantly-forgetable storyline, a cast of unimpressive and ill-differentiated characters, and action scenes generated by a computer. Yawn. Do yourself a favour and watch "The Blue Max" instead: that one comes from a time when Hollywood believed in actual cinematographic values.
Oh, yes, and if you're one of those people mainly interested in "historical accuracy" (I'm not, but I know plenty who are) then the thing that will probably annoy the pants off you is the grafting of 21st century manners onto world war one figures. You might as well be listening to dialogue and body language designed for a Milwaukee shopping mall in 2009. "Shall we like go over the lines and like beat up a few Huns wiv our machine guns, just for a laugh, know what I mean?" Well, not quite, but you get the drift ..
