The British movie, Flood.

I bought this film because of all the hype surrounding it. You know the kind, "great movie" "excellent special effects" "superb acting" "british at its best"
and because of the interest in how London and the government would deal with such a major crisis.
I was extremely dissapointed with the entire thing. Over acted (to say the least) poor story line, not enough special effects. I even watched it with my surround sound system almost maxed out and I was still dissapointed.
It starts out planting the seed that Robert carlisle and his father no longer get on (for one reason or another)but they all work together with the Thames barrier so have to see eachother. This dreary relationship is show to go from strength to strength in the film until the very last when....well, its so predictable, Im guessing that you can guess whats coming but i'll say no more.
After all, i wouldn want to spoil it for you *YAWN*
There is one scene that is soooooo unbelievable its laughable. Two people (one of which is robert carlisle) jumping into the river Thames (remember now, this is a combined hurricane with high tide...lol) managing to stay together for most of it (they do lose eachother once but low and behold, they soon manage to SOME HOW meet up again umongst the hurricaned waters)and survive unscathed. Theyre not even emotional about it when they eventually get onto dry land.
It ends in supposed glory, thats if you can get that far without falling asleep or switching it off.
Its got to be one of the worst british efforts of film making ive seen in a long long time.
