Five Star - Greatest Hits (CD 2003)

Wow. I'd forgotten just how man Hits this 1980's band had! They still sound great and haven't dated at all. They are huge in the States now apparently

I loved the music of the eighties, as i was a teenager then. I liked five star's music, and thought it would be nice to listen to it again, I am glad that I brought it and listen to it on various occasions.

It brings back memories.

Good old basic pop groups of the eighties.

Five Star where great in their prime, from what I can remember...they had the slickest dance moves and really thought they were next best thing since The Jackson 5's, but they did try their best, unfortunately the money consumed them trying to keep up with a lavish lifestyle and they disappeared shortly after entering the scene.
Getting this CD brought back a lot of memories and plus I love the 80's and if you do, then you will definetly enjoy it.

I heard one of the songs on the radio and decide to look it up and decided to buy that album and was not disapionted love all the song on it.

Fantastic cd filled wit all their big hits (and small hits as well). Well worth getting hold of a copy for your collection.

great cd reminded me of the good old 80s era, some of the songs reminded me of when i was at school and even collage good memories. worth buying if you was brought up in the 80s.

It wouldn't be far fetched to call 5 Star the British answer to the Jackson 5 - here was a singing all dancing act. One of the sisters wrote a few of the tracks another choreographed whilst the brother styled and all managed by their father, a truly family affair.

But it's the music that has stood up through the years - a true slice of 80s decadance, all the songs are here. Not listed in chronological order all 18 tracks are memorable (could have included Are You Man Enough)- the songs and videos were suggestive but never sexual such as The Slightest Touch or Strong As Steel. From bubblegum pop (If I Say Yes), to American influenced soul (Love Take Over) to sublime rock (Another Weekend) 5 Star muicality was changeable as well as their looks.

The songs had distinctive intros and hooks (Rain of Shine, Find The Time, Somewhere Somebody) - which have kept them fresh in the mind from the first time around in the 80s.

Today 5 Star are a 3 piece Denise - original lead, Lorraine and Stedman (Doris and Delroy having other interests), and I continue to enjoy the music and dance at special PA or on the 80s Here and Now revival tour - I give this CD 5 "gold" stars!

Love the CD! Hate the lazy seller who blames Royal Mail for his ineptitude! He keeps saying that he has resolved the Royal Mail issues.....how? Has he suddenly become an advisor for them?! Royal Mail ought to look at a Libel claim - given that the seller passes the buck and publically blames them all the time! Buy from someone else if you can!

i baught it as a present for christmas.the person i baught it for is very happy and enjoying the cd bringing back old memories.

Fantastic cd, all the best of the group Five Star, top quality sound, top quality music and vocals just the best!!! Bring back great memories and buy this one!!!

If you love the 80s you will love ths CD,One of the best groups around at that time.
All the tracks are grate. I cannot really say that i didn't enjoy a single track.
Most of the songs are very upto date with what your likely to hear in the pop charts at the moment.

I HEARD ONE OF 5 STAR'S SOMGS ON THE RADIO AND ME AND MY FRIEND WAS TALKING ALL DAY ABOUT HOW MUCH WE MISS THE 80'S. SO I BOUGHT IT AND WE HAVE HAD SO MUCH FUN LISTENING TO IT.

I REMEBER THIS GROUP WHEN I WAS AT SCHOOL LOVED THEM THEN HAD ALL THERE SONGS ON A TAPE, BUT THANKS TO TECHNOLOGY THERE NOW ON CD, I HAVE NO DISLIKES AT ALL WITH THIS ALBUM. ALL THE SONGS ARE GREAT AND I ENJOY SINGING ALONG TO THEM, YES AND AFTER ALL THESES YEARS I STILL NO ALL THE WORDS.( SAD I KNOW).

five star were one of the biggest bands of the 80's !! these songs on this compilation have never aged so go and buy it and play them out loud.....although now on solo projects the guys will be putting some new stuff out soon ( fingers crossed) so keep an eye open for them!!
