Fish - Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors (CD 1990)

Still one of his best. The title track is a classic and the album boasts some great tracks that still sound as fresh as when they first came out and are still live faves - Cliche, Big Wedge and The Company.

I bought this on cassette about 15 years ago, thought it good. The track "Big Wedge", one that stuck out way back then, so done a search foun the album again, got it in the car, the whole album sounds even better all, the tracks just seem to feel alive, The "Big Wedge" sounds full of life, the rest of the track all have a natural sound. 5 out of 5

A truly beautiful album: intense, passionate and a lyrical genius at work. I still can't believe to this day that the track 'a gentleman's excuse me' never made it to number one. I have had the pleasure of seeing Fish perform on a number of occassions; he's fascinating to watch, a true show man who has the whole audience eating out of his hand. He's touring again in the UK; ALREADY GOT MY TICKET!!

I bought this album when it was first released on vinyl and now I am revisiting it out of curiosity, I never liked Marrilion but Fish solo has something quite unique about it, his lyrics are wonderfully constructed, I will be honest, I do not know if this is a guilty pleasure or a truly good album but if you like intelligent observations and quality musicianship then this has to be worth a punt, I dont mind guilt if its this enjoyable!
