Final Destination (DVD 2000)

This teen scare flick is a cut above most others. Here, it is not some crazed killer which does away with most of the cast but, rather, the fickle finger of fate that selects the next denizen of the great beyond.

The movie starts off happily enough with a class of high school seniors about to depart for Paris. Once they board the plane, our main man, Alex, cannot quite overcome his fear of flying, as he has a premonition that the plane is going to blow up upon takeoff.

His hysteria is such that he, as well as four other students, is escorted off the plane, accompanied by faculty members, one of whom returns to re-board the plane. No sooner does the plane take off, it blows up in mid air. It seems that fate has snatched these lucky individuals out of death's clutches...or has it?

Their relief, at having escaped being blown up on the plane, turns to terror, as it appears that fate will not have them cheat death. The lengths that these young people go to evade fate, and the steps that fate takes to hunt them down one by one, makes for a crafty and clever thriller. Teens and adults alike will enjoy this flick.

Final Destination films are absolutly fantastic.I have only seen 1 and 2 but if you are a great horror fan like me who love freddie jason and friends but likes something a little different that keeps you on the edge of your seat try these.I highly recommend them and waiting impatiently to see number three.

The Final Destination trio of films are born purely of a lame conceptual idea to repeat the same below standard formula time and time again. I envisage American audiences wasting their dollars at the box office to google at this circus slideshow of dismal demises but I shudder to think that more cynical audiences across the pond have helped spawn a further two brain-dead performances with their Euros and Pounds Sterling.

Hollywood rarely conjures up what true fans of the genre consider as a legitimate horror film, especially those who remember the innovative camera techniques and non CGI gore of the 70/80's genre masters. I will spare Final Destination (1st movie) a morsel of praise, it evaded the standard glitzy slasher flick format, awarding it with a grain of originality. This small merit is now dashed against the rocks of interminable repetitiveness. These films are a reminder of how shallow and spoon fed our society has become.

I am an absolute sucker for these type of films. This twist of fate film had me on the edge of my seat nearly the whole way through.
It has some really gruesome jumpy bits in it and the ending made me go and buy final destination 2 as it was that good.

This is an excellent film due to the unpredictable deaths. This film is very entertaining due to the tragic deaths and fantastic storyline. Not a great film fo non gore lovers but nothing too gory! A well thought out film with all possible "hiccups" covered. A must see before seeing final destination 2 or 3.

I thought the film had a great story line but future final fantasy films get too predictable!!! the first film had me on the edge of my seat not knowing what was to happen!! its not your normal horror film...not much gorr or blood but had me jumping from my seat!!

Great film. Great plot. Keeps you watching all the way through. Although there isnt a well known cast, they are good actors/ess's.

This is the first film of the final destinations and definately the best to date. Cant wait for the 4th installment

it was a scary and bloody as the rest though i WASN'T disapointed!

We all fear it....Death!
But the question remains, does death have a plan?

Devon Sawa plays the teenager Alex whom has a preminition that the flight he is just about to take to France, is going to crash and kill everybody on board.
He tells everyone but no-one believes him.
He gets into a fight and is escorted off the plane with several of his teenage friends.
The aircraft just lifts off before exploding in a ball of flames.

Then starts the grim reaper coming for all those whom was originally on his list.
No-one cheats death!

Great film makes you jump all the way through, Some gory but but well worth a night in with some mates!!

i have the other films and was needing the first one and when i saw it on here and for how much it was i couldnt let it go, i thought the prices was very reasonable and the accuracey ofthe information was excellant

i bought this for my daughter as she is in2 final destination as she waanted as she got it 4 easter as she says these films r good as she enjoys them

i like the films because your on the edge of you seat not noing what is going to happen and it is very groseam and i desided to buy the dvds because all 3 of the films are fantastic.

i brougth this ltem for a present for my auntie,as she kept going on and on about this film.she said it was a really good film to watch she couldnt say that there was anything wrong in the film its a good film alover.

Excellent film....a must see! Bought this copy as i have seen it at a friends and had final destination 2 and 3. This film is a must and you must watch the 3 films in total....

the film is an excellent film great speacial effect enough to keep you guessing what was gonnna happen next there was nothing i dislike about the film i decided to buy the dvd because i enjoyed the film so much i could watch it 100 times over and still not get bored with it. I was so glad when i found it on dvd i had been looking for a while but never found one at the right price when i did i knew i had to have.

It's good to see a movie based on a great idea and produced to such an excellent quality - the realism of the opening flight crash is eerily accurate, you'll find yourself looking around at your fellow passengers for anyone who's having a panic attack !
