This film is one of my favourites so I am a little biased when writing this review. If you are interested in a well made 60's spoof vampire film then you will really enjoy this. I grew up in the 60's and 70's and this film really typifies that era. It will not appeal to the younger generation who have grown up with a limited attention span, playing on computer games and consuming too many E numbers as there are no special effects and scenes are longer than 10 seconds, but if you are the right age this is a gem of a movie which will be amusing and entertaining, it's a regular on TCM channel and this is where I first found it. This is a hidden classic of the genre and well worth watching, especially if you are 40something.

This film stands the test of time, right from the off it will put a smile on your face as the visual gags start to flow.
Alfie Bass is a treat to watch and makes the most of his role, "Boy, Have you got the wrong vampire".
I recommend anyone to have this movie in their collection.
Bravo..Mr Polanski.

This film takes me back to Christmas past when my dad would let me stay up late and watch the late film. This film stood out as it has a comic value but with an underlying element of true horror.
No special effects or computor grahics just great sets, you wont be hiding behind the couch but this film draws you in, you can feel the cold. They dont make them like ths anymore ime not sure why.

Stunning movie, a simple story brilliantly acted out, twisting the usual tale of bloodsucking ghouls. A fantasy of epic quality for it's day. A must

This is an absolute classic starring Alfie Bass, Jack Mcgowran, Sharon Tate and of course Roman Polanski. Tells the tale of Alfie Bass and his sidekick Polanski, on the trail of vampires in Transylvania. Laughs galore in the old village and the stunning castle. The outdoor scenes in the snow are lovely, with some great haunting musical scenes. A classic from the 1960s. There is a 2nd film, i believe, called Dance with the Vampires. Dont miss it!!!

This vampire spoof is one of my all-time favourite movies. Witty script, great characters, beautiful snow scenes and sets. But it's a shame they changed the original title: I thought "Dance of the Vampires" much more evocative. Alfie Bass, as a Jewish inn-keeper and eventual vampire, steals scene after scene from Roman Polanski, Sharon Tate and Jack MacGowran. Look out for Ferdy Mayne as the vampire Count: one of the best movie vampires ever. You may remember him as the castle C.O. in "Where Eagles Dare".

for any vampire fan, this is perhaps one of the best early films mockiing the traditional vampire trends, or trying to bring a lighter side to the creatures we all love. its a bit dated, but still as funny today as it ever was. well reccommended to ay vampire freak.
