This film is FANTASTIC! It is by far one of my all time favourites! It's definitley not for everyone, I think you need to be a bit wild & twisted to really appreciate the pure brilliance of the film. I showed this to one of my very good friends and she didn't really see what I thought was so amazing but then I suppose we're all different. I think the film captures a very special feeling we all have a little bit of inside us......which makes you wonder what it'd be like if you totally lost control! I'll stop because I'm starting to feel nostalgic. Happy watching

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream is a novel by Hunter S. Thompson, illustrated by Ralph Steadman. The book is a roman à clef, rooted in autobiographical incidents. The story follows its protagonist, Raoul Duke, and his attorney, Dr. Gonzo, as they descend on Las Vegas to chase the American Dream through a drug-induced haze. The novel first appeared as a two-part series in Rolling Stone magazine in 1971.

I bought it on the recommendation of me old mate Tommy Bazza, Told me about it over the old MSN at about 3AM one morning wen me old mate Mr Rows and poomcha was offline..

All I can say, If you are going to Amsterdam,
you do not want to watch this one in your hotel room after coming back from a night out in the coffee shops!!

This film is FUNNY and you would probably split your sides if you have smoked a bit too much funky erbs! They have got it down to a "T" especially the bit where he is trying to talk to the Hotel receptionist in the Vegas Hotel...
You got to see it!!

If like me you lived your youth and tried a bit of this and that, you will relate to that scene and laugh your socks off!
This film is a must if you havent already seen it. Johnny is a classically funny actor and he does not disapoint in this film..

If anyone telly you it is a stupid film, they must be or have been a total straight head all their life because If you know where I am coming from, you will think this film is GREAT!!

This is a love it or hate it film - and its my favourite of all time. I've just bought it to watch over Christmas as its perfect for a boozy laugh filled night in.

Its a booze/drug orgy of a roadtrip and utterly fast paced rediculous action right from the start. This is probably not for lovers of main stream films or people who disapprove of comedy situations brought about by excessive drug use!

The characters are brilliant and it is totally well acted with an unrecognisable Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro as his 'attorney'. Don't want to describe my favourite scenes too much because that would spoil it, but look out for the bats attacking at the start, and the monsters in the bar, and trying to get off the roundabout, and the attempted suicide in the bath....!

If you have the right sense of humour, you'll love it.

One awesomely funny and mad movie that keeps you hooked with it's banter and insanity. The cocktail of Terry Gillian's mind and Johnny Depp's potation make this movie a must own/see.

I certainly enjoyed the visions of a drug addict and the idea's of the world being as crazy as that. Throughly enjoyable and a must have for the Depp fans and for the random, crazy people who love the warped mind of Gillian.

This film is one of my persoanl favourites. the film is about a man called Hunter S. Thompson .. a famous american journelist who lived his full life on the edge, he captured the savage truth about american politics and the american dream. Johhny depp plays the lead part in the stroy and he actually went to Woody creak to live with Hunter to get into character. hunter was a good friend of johnny depp and hunter didnt trust easily. johnny plays hunter perfectly in the film.
the film is well made and accurate and Hunter even liked it !
reccomend it for all who enjoy hunter thompsons work or lifestyle choices!

It's a good film but very unusuall. If you don't like drugs, insanity and genorally strange things then you wont like it! Johny Depp is brilliant as usuall and plays a great part but is no eye candy in this film!

I had to buy this on DVD as I have watched it many times at a friends place. An awesome classic comedy about a reporter and his 'lawyer' in hotel rooms taking lots of mind bending drugs instead of covering a major desert race.
Johnny Depp stars in this great adaption of the book (by the same name) and leads us through a mind bending journey.

maybe i missed something, but quite frankly i failed to see the point of this film.
why bother to make this film at all? it's not particularly funny, it has no social comment, the characters are hollow.
Depp plays the whole film with a fag in his mouth, while Che wallows in filth.
some brief laughs at outrageous behaviour, otherwise a waste of time.

If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.

Seen this film a few times before owning it, johnny depp gives another outstanding performance, some films of his you can watch a few times, some 100's this is one of the later.

excellent comedy. johnny depp plays a brilliant part. a must have for your dvd collection. this film includes a brief appearance of cameron diaz. the film has been well directed with some wicked effects.

Great film Johnny Depp at his best, He really does some extreme character portrayl. Benito Del torro is terrific too thy both seem to complement each other on screen. The book was written originally by Terry Gilliam of Python fame!!

You can almost see his quirky sense of humour shine through

This is a hell of a good film to watch, vey funny outlook on the consequences of drugs, and a great performance from Johnny Depp

A great book, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas has been well adapted to the TV screen. The use of psychedelic imagery is good (if a little over the top at times) and the films plot stays more or less true to the book. All in all if you liked the book you'll like the film and if you've never read the book, well you should! The DVD stands alone as a good and interesting watch for anyone with an interest in mind altering drugs and or Las Vegas.

This is an excellent, fast moving trip of a movie. If you love drug films and have a dark sense of humour then this is definately the film for you. Johnny Depp delivers an almost too convincing peformance as zany, narcotic addict Raoul, alongside his equally messed up partner Dr. Gonzo, played by Benicio Del Toro. There is a lot to take in in this psychadelic ride, so keep your eyes open. The only problem is the length of this film, but if you're into seeing dinosaurs in casino's and TV coming to life, then really don't think you'll mind!

its just a mad film about to guys getting hammered and experiencing weird trip outs. the best bit in this film is when jonny depp thinks there is a war going on in the room

I bought this dvd Fear and loathing in Las Vegas as a pressie for my boyfriend, he was going on about it so i looked on ebay and there it was, very well priced so i got it for him, i havent watched it myself but he loved it!!! It was very well packaged and exactly as described condition wise i was very pleased.

Should be a film for everyone to see but features references and viewing or seriously bad drug taking. Raoul- Johnny Depp (not as gorgeous as usual) and Dr. Gonzo -Benicio Del Toro are off on a business trip as Raoul is a journalist. The film displays lots of drug taking and mixing with hallucinogenics making for fantasticall funny viewing featuring dinosaurs in the Las Vegas Casino. There are a few other appearances by Cameron Diaz, Christina Ricci and Gary Busey. The two charaters go great together....a must see.
