Love or hate religion...you'll love this....a true classic. This show about 3 priest and their tea-maniac housekeeper living on a tiny island is histerically funny and could have gone on for years had Dermot Morgan(Father Ted) not tragically passed away. Now nearly ten years later, i'm still as mad as ever about this show and still burst out laughing when i see Ardal O'Hanlon as Fr Dougal. Th catchphrases are the most memorable aspect of the show.....who'll ever forget them....my all-time favourite has to be "I LOVE MY BRICK" which was uttered by fr jack in "The New Milkman" episode. I just got round to getting this recently and i've been watching it non-stop since. It should be part of everyones collection so buy it! Its irish humour at its best(though it was produced by an english channel but we won't get into that). Also a few famous faces are in this, namely Graham Norton(Legend) and Pauline McGlynn as Mrs ***** Doyle!

Dermot Morgan, Ardal O'Hanlon, Frank Kelly and Pauline McLynn star in arguably one of the best comedies to come from the British Isles.

Laughter from start to finish with some classic one liners. Special mention for Bishop Brennan, who provides some hilarious storylines for the series.

If you've never seen an episode of Father Ted before, I highly recommend you give it a shot. If you already have, what better item to own than the complete series?

I love all of theses episodes, it's such a shame no more could be made but least i have the complete set!

This has got to be one of the funniest series ever! The characters (not only the main ones)in each epsiode all add to the overall humuor and the series flows along with laugh after laugh. Add it to your collection if you to laugh out loud and have a great time.

I bought the series having enjoyed the episode I saw on TV.
Its is anarchic and silly with few references to theology.
A highpoint is the ingenious ways the housekeeper, Mrs. Doyle finds to alight from a windowsill...

This is just what I wanted to get my partner for Christmas as he is a major fan of the series. The DvD menu is a little bit difficult to navigate but you can't deny that Father Ted is one of the best programmes out there!

Every now and then a comedy show comes along which has soemthing special. A combination of brilliant writing and acting, timing and magic which sets it apart. Obviously you can think of Fawlty Towers, The Office, Phoenix Nights, Rising Damp. Father Ted is equal to these. The stiuation of 3 priests living on Craggy island off the coast of Ireland, looked after by their housekeeper, is original and funny in itself. But the writing of Linehan and Matthews and timing of the actors/comedians, mainly Dermot Morgan and Ardal O'Hanlon is brilliant. You just have to watch it as you cant really define comedy. All the episodes are brilliant, but my favourite is The Song for Europe. A classic.

Great box set with all the episodes. Really worth the money and much cheaper on E-bay than it is in the shops.

You have to be a lover of comedy or just love those Priests on Craggy Island.
Some put it in same slot as Vicar of Dibley but this comedy series is a class of it's own. OK yes can be said some bits may come over a rather silly as Father Ted himself may say but once you get into all the loveable characters you can't help wanting more. I ended up really under understanding poor Father Ted and how he is the only real sain one their wanting to be away and possible live in Las Vegas. Like all comedies it has it's classic episodes, mine is when they meet up with Richard Wilson playing himself getting rather annoyed at the "I don't believe it" coming from Ted.The series has other guests stars like Graham Norton. The characters themselves? well what can be said about Father Jack Hackett? well without using swear words (quotes) leaves little apart from for a guy who says very little he cracks me up everytime (pause) oh NUNS there one word he doesn't swear. Father Dougal McGuire well...when brains were being handed out he was in another queue. I love watching Father Ted played by the late Ardel O'Hanlon' face everytime nothing gets through this Priest Dougal he has to share his life with. Mrs. Doyle shall I talk about her? oh go on (pause) go on, go go go on. She is one of those house keepers that may keep the house a float but sink you in tea and sandwiches. I could not believe such a lovely actress like Pauline McLynn could be made up too look so....so...Mrs. Doyle you never know her without make up if you stood next to her apart from if she asked you for a cup of tea.
I loved the show it takes you away from lifes worries and takes you to this crazy world which can show you too that things could be worse. Espesially if you lived on Craggy Island

This is the only series were i actually felt pain in my chest from laughing, i still remember seeing the 1st episode "Hell" and just seeing Father Ted trying to get Father to do any mass whatsoever was the start of a really memorable time, cut short by the untimely death of Dermot Morgan. What a talent, Ardal O Hanlon, Frank Kelly & last but not in the slightest way least Pauline McLynn & Demot would surely of went on to do many other TV greats of our time, such was the talent and sheer fun of thier acting. The only thing i disliked about Father Ted was that it had to come to an untimely stop. I bought it when it cost £95, a lot of money, such was the attraction of the wit & humour i parted company with that amount of money. I have not repeated that to this day, such is the power of this series. Easily the funniest show i ever saw, and probly ever will.

Regarding the above purchase, I did make a late payment and received a strike, My cheque was cashed and no goods were sent, I have contacted the seller and had no response, I will be sueing the seller in 12 days time if I do not receive a refund.

This has to be one of the most funniest comedies ever, i actually missed the first episode because i though it looked not a comedy at all. How wrong was i, completely this is a superb DVD. Okay political correctness might not be seen, but you just cannot be serious with this comedy, the writing is so funny.

Father Hacket is fantastic, as the series progresses, you see his character getting worse in a good way.

This is a brilliant comedy buy it 5/5......

What can i say other than "brilliant". I knew that father ted was funny but this complete series just puts the icing on the cake. If you truly loved this 90's comedy then this is a must buy for your collection. 10 out of 10 again,again and again. The only negative to mention is the price but if honest it's worth every penny. It ranges from £30 to £50 for the complete box series, but do shop around and dont go with the first price you see. You can buy the series on seperate discs but that will only feed your hunger for more, so the complete box set is a must.

Absolutely laugh out load. One of the most underated comedies in years, that sits shoulder to shoulder with Blackadder.
A must have for any comic fan. I was late to the Ted party, but when I saw th Christmas special it was so good, that I had to get myself on ebay. Series 2 is an absolute classic, especially 'a song for Ireland!'. Still not finished series 3 yet, so can't comment on that.

i bought this box set as i had only managed to catch a few on the telly.This box set is side splittingiy funny.

Alot obviously depends on your own sense of humour, but I found this dvd set hilarious from start to finish. I can then watch it again and again and laugh just as much. Money well spent in my opinion.
