Reed Richards is a very talented scientist seeking the funding for a space experiment. Along with his friend and partner Ben Grimm, he goes to businessman Victor Von Doom and manages to get his support. So, Reed and Ben, along with Doom, his partner Sue Storm and her brother Johnny, find themselves aboard Doom's private space station. However an accident will flood the station with cosmic rays and Reed, Ben, Sue and Johnny will gain amazing powers thus becoming the Fantastic Four. But, the four of them aren't the only ones affected by the cosmic rays

An entertaining movie that does not take itself too seriously, gives a nice introduction to the characters, leaves you wanting more.
Special effects were good, especially the Human Torch ‘Flame On’ scenes
Plot summary:
Five astronauts are bombarded by cosmic rays, though initially they seem un-affected, on return to Earth they all start to display unique powers.
Four of the astronauts team up to try to find a solution to their changes, the fifth Victor Von Doom (Julian McMahon) whose company funded the space voyage comes under pressure from his board of directors and as his powers manifest themselves he uses powers to eliminate his enemies.
With each abuse of his power it leads to the ultimate climax a fight with the other four effected astronauts.
Some nice extras on this DVD, if want a more cost effective option and are not worried about the extras try the 'One disc' version

This is a classic story made into a 21st century film. It is highly recommended as a family favorite. The action sceens are very good, unlike early films you cannot tell what has been superimposed. The story like is typical guy gets girl but on the whole, a great film to add to your collection.

The fantastic four is a great hit* for all the family, but it doesn't have enough adventure. The story is about 5 people who were planning a trip into space as the original genes that created man were in space on a persific date, so the fantastic four go to space with a multa billionaire who invested the trip. Whilst they are getting prepared. The gene storm came early which didn't give them enough time to be fully prepared which caused all five people to have an affect from the gene storm.
One of the fantastic four had the power to have invisibility and a power to contain, the other to stretch like rubber, the next to be made like rock, and the final one to have the power of fire and to fly, but not forgetting the multi billionaire who was also on the ship he became strong and made of the strongest metal and had the power to control electricity.
The basics of the story is:
The multi billionaire becomes evil and wants to have the most power in the world but in order to do so he has to destroy the fantastic four.
This is a great film to watch with the family or friends it has a bit of action and adventure and comedy so give it a try!

This movie was definately much better then its sequel. The story line and special effects were particularley good. The actors enjoyed there roles however I am not entirely sure that Jessica Alba looks good blonde!!!!!

Fantastic Film
) Definatly my fav comic book film! The spidy films are never as good as the hype, blade was a bit wooden, the hulk...dont even go there, superman and batman should have just been left alone, they were good as they were, daredevil was appauling and as much as i love jennifer garner, electra was crap. This film however had everything, the sexy female lead, the hunk and the hilarious one liners. By far the best!

Although it was slated by critics at it's cinamatic release i liked the film because it served as a perfect platform for future installments and it will be greatly appreciated when a trilogy is complete! I am a big fan of comic book hero's etc and wanted the 2-disc edition thus i bought it!

I first saw this film at the cinema and I can tell you it definatly wasn't a waste of money. I was drawn to the film as it stars Julian McMahon who is probably better known as Dr Christian Troy in 'Nip tuck' or Cole Turner in 'Charmed'. After seeing him play a 'demon' in Charmed I wasn't disappointed by his 'bad guy' performance as Victor Von Doom.
The basic story line is about a scientist, a sexy secretary, an adrenaline junkie, a roadie and a multi-millionaire who go into space to examine a strange pheomenon which may have been responsible for creating life. Unfortunatly it goes horribly wrong, and the strange light washes over the spaceship. This is how they get their powers. There are a multitude of emotions when they find out they each have special abilites, at first finding it difficult to cope but soon learning it is a gift...for some. This is where their adventure begins.
Meanwhile Victor has lost millions due to the failure of the mission and wants to take revenge on those responsible. The rest of the film shows them using their powers (for all sorts of things!) which finally accumliates into a spectacular battle with Victor Von Doom.
The film is easy to follow, and not too long which is great for kids as I think it will hold their interest, as well as parents, teenagers and grandparents! You don't have to like comic books (I don't) or even know the story. It leaves the film open to a sequel, which I hope comes out soon. Overall I would say this is a FANTASTIC film (pardon the pun). Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy
