Falkus On Fly Casting (DVD)

Hugh Falkus was a master of fly casting and was an inspiration to generations of fishermen. With his very clear instructions and seemingly effortless demonstrations this DVD is a must for anyone wishing to learn or brush up there existing skills on the beautifull art of fly casting. It is such a shame the film and sound quality is not up to scratch but it still is well worthwile waching.

Having been a fisherman for some years I wondered if this DVD was going to tell me something new. Well I can honestly say what a gem this DVD is. Within 5 minutes I picked up on two issue that had been effecting my spey casting for some time and now I'm just as good as Scott Mackenzie (well nearly).

Hugh Falkus has a reputaion for being an authority on Sea Trout and Salmon. Just about anything he does if worth listening to and this DVD is no exception. You will quickly learn how to double or single handed spey cast. Easy to follow, straight forward no nonse instructions. If you can't spey cast after seeing this video you never will.

It is one of the best DVD on Spey casting I've seen for roll cast, single and double spey using either a single or double handed rod. Hugh even shows you how easy it is to do it left and right handed. Even with a wounded arm. Sheer poetry in action by the master, whose sole purpose is to show the viewer that they can do it too.

If you fish in a stream, spey casting is the answer to your dreams when overhead is useless. So don't think this DVD is for the big rods it isn't. Hugh even shows how you can use it from sitting in a boat and the reasons why it is so safe.

This is a must have DVD for anyone who has difficulty spey casting or a novice. Hugh unlocks the myths that it is not difficult. Absorbing and entertaining to watch with no nonsense presentation.

My only grumble is that the marketing material of this DVD lacks substance by retailers. It doesn't do the film credit. It really is a gem that any fisherman should have in their library.
