FUJIFILM Finepix S5800 Digital Camera

The reason for me purchasing this camera was quite simple. I wanted a camera which satisfies an amateur photographer. Photography for me is nothing more than a hobby, and the Fuji S5800 did the job. With a wide picture resolution of 3264 x 2448 the quality is breathtaking. The most thing which attracted me to buying this camera is its style, optical lens (10x) and its focus. The thing I disliked about it is when it comes to taking pictures at night. It maybe my lack of experience but, this camera is user friendly true but it lacks this when it comes to low light environments. A maximum ISO of 1600 (flash sensitivity) is present making it capable of capturing sharp and images but, it has a tendency to making the pictures pale due to the flash. But you can most probably arrange that by varying the ISO, and even using a photoshop. I recommend such a product, its not so expensive and the quality is worth the price. I've been using it for over a month now, and it hasn't given me any problems, and I'm satisfied with its performance. I would also recommend a screen protector and an xD 2Gb memory card, and you would maximise its performance. I hope I've pointed out the basics about this camera. When my son Crios was visiting us from Ireland he showed me a camera he had purchased from a shop in Belfast..I really liked it and it was one i had been thinking about buying but the price put me off - he paid £150 for it..I decided to look for the same camera on eBay and ended up getting an identical camera in new condition for £74..I was even more surprised when the camera arrived a few days later still in its box and with all the bits and pieces still in their wrappers. When i started using the camera i was immediately convinced i had bought the right one for me..Its an excellent digital camera and i used it to photograph my other sons cricket match, my daughter horse riding and my 2 year old son playing..Needless to say my older son from Ireland was a wee bit peeved at the price of my purchase compared with his and also a bit taken aback when he realised that i had recieved some extras with my camera. Overall i think it is one of my favourite eBay purchases and one that has already given me hours of fun taking pictures and videos too..There is absolutely nothing to dislike about the camera and lots to love about it..The money i saved was enough to put diesel in the car and take us all out for the day here in Nth Wales and of course plenty of pictures to remind us all..Why i use eBay ? Its simple bargains galore, the fun of the auction and on top of that i can sell unwanted gifts to fund more days out and about enjoying life with my wife and children......Steve Dunn (rhewl)

this camera is so easy to set up. point and shoot. with so many features to choose from. very easy to understand instructions. can use 3 different types of memory card . so you dont have to buy the dearest ones on the market. so if you want something simple for other people to use other than youself then this is the camera for you and like myself you want to be in the pictures yourself.

Awesome camera does everything except make the tea.
This is really one of the finest digital cameras out there

Easy for my wife to use (and me). Our other camera is an Olympus E20P which can be a little too complex. Really like the compact nature and lightness

I bought this camera for my wife, she wanted an slr but when she saw the fuji she decided on that.
So far she's found it excellent, the little thing like when you move the control knob it tells you on the lcd screen what the setting you are on, cutting down on.
The price was superb at the time although everyone seems to have reduced it for christmas.

the camera is too big for a compact camera.

It looks like a small SLR but isn't.

I would acually reccomend it buy it is not professional.

Remember, it's about £130 not £1300.

I got this camera for christmas and so far I have had no problems at all. It is suitable for amatuer photographers like myself and is very easy to use. It's small and compact, takes amazing pictures (3264 x 2448)and can zoom in ten times without loosing definition. The quality is breathtaking. There are no red-eye problems, no problem in uploading to my computer and no dull pictures (bright flash).

Overall, this item hasn't brought me any problems so far and is perfect for amatuer photographers.

Camera was only £101 and the P&P was another £40 pounds but then i got hit for another £25 off the VAT man but thats life and i still got the camera cheep(the seller gave me a memory card free to make up for the £25 vat bill). its a xmas present so i havent used the camera yet but it looks very good and there was lots of extra free gifts with it so all in all very happy with it

Bought this camera after having it recommended by a friend.It's easy to use,has lots of features which aren't hard to work and basically you can point it and shoot and still get a great picture! For anyone who wants great pictures of the family,holidays etc without forking out a fortune,i would recommend.The screen and grab handle are the best features for me,along with the choice of videoing as i can raise and point at the kids assemblies etc without the worry of focusing,distance etc.Great fun!

I like fuji and this machine is really a bargain for what is doing. Excellent pictures, easy use for sort medium range and very simple explanatin on the book to learn how toi use the camera properly.

Brought this because I already had a point and shoot. Works extremely well and gives wonderful clear shots. Magnification is exceptionally good and the software is easy to use.

It was the first time I had been on Ebay My daughter said she wanted a digitalcamera for christmas and as money is short she advised me to go on Ebay which I did. she found the one she wanted and I bid for it any way I got it . when it arrived she had a look to see if it was the one she wanted ,which it was. then one christmas day when she unrapped it she found it did not work properly when she got intouch with the young man saidit was too late , as I should have got in touch wihe I frist got it . looking back he is right, I have learned a good lesson but Ebay is very good and I will use it again thank you

This is an excellent camera for the price and the level of features put a lot of more expensive models to shame. The camera is very easy to use and the 10* optical zoom gives you great scope for your pictures. The pictures are clear and crisp, with vibrant, life-like colours that you would expect from more expensive options. I bought this camera to get me back into my photography as I had been out of it for a few years. And this camera has certainly done the trick.

macro is absolutely ace. veins on leaves and plant and jewellery amazing!!!.and there's more. Large led screen and viewfinder.no more heads chopped off
great firework photos.cuts out red eye..no more devil dogs!!
zoom is fab..check the statues out at lyme park at a 1000 yards....no figleaf!!!!
great sound and movie facility. I prefer a grabbale camera as opposed to a thin point and go camera..The photos are great and can be edited well..fed up of small cameras.or ruining the led "cos it's in your pocket?
get one of these...my mates just got the 2000 and she hates it. she's gone back to the best and most resilient one It's .great for the art room and the students doing photography and art...

A great Camera ... easy to use and and very good results.. For the price this is a product i recommend to anyone who needs a good digital camera at a low price.

as an avid interested amateur photographer I wanted a camera that had a bit more than the small digital ones but i couldn't get my head around the SLR type (or my purse). I did some research with a famous magazine and decided that as a "bridge" camera, this looked kind-of professional, had great reviews, was easy to use and took really clear pictures.

I was not disappointed. What a great camera. Close-ups are amazing and not grainy, the natural light (flash disabled) takes amazing gig photos and on auto I have had wonderful scene pics and family shots. "Very professional" have been some of the comments I have received. The zoom is brilliant too.

Easy to use on auto and even if you change the settings you get a text readout on the screen telling you what you have changed to and what it does. The booklet/instruction manual was easy to read and understand but literally, I took it out of the box and started snapping away (reading up on the technical bits later)

It has a great selection of manual settings for the discerning photographer too.

What swayed me was a review by a professional photographer who said the quality of the photos he got from this Finepix was easily comparable to his SLR camera... (Oh... all that fiddling with different lenses... no way!)

Money very well spent. Satisfaction value..... top marks!

i absolutely love this camera, every other camera i have use of, comes a poor second. The Fuji s5800 turned me into a budding pro, I have brought 3x s5800 in the last 18mths, one i lost, the 2nd i dropped quite a distance so i'm on my 3rd, hopefully i'll not lose this one, ive taken some classic photograghs, in natural lighting,crisp outlines, I've got 2 babies, ive taken some fantastic shots, once you've used this camera you just can't go back to anything eles
