This is a cracking camera as a budget type. Light weight and easy to hold in one hand, it looks the part as well. The 16Mb card is way too small but for about £20 a 1Gb card gives me over 7000 shots at minimum quality and 495 at maximum. It has a very usefull trimming capability which is ideal for very close shots, I use this for photgraphing jewelery. Unfortunatly it does not have a multi-shot sports mode but lets be honest, how often would you use it. The picture quality is exellent and just as good as the 8mp camera it is replacing. It does not have a micraphone so the videos mode is not much good as you would always need to have sound but it is, as they say, limited only to the size of your memory card. It does not rate a 5/5 because of the few points I find it is missing but as a value for money camera it has to be 4/5 plus.

  Great Camera!

The pace of change in digital photography means that for about £50 you can now buy (via Ebay) a used camera that will more than meet most domestic user's needs. The Fuji S3500 is just such a camera. I already had a fuji camera - the 6800zoom, which is a commpact model with a nice little R2-D2 style flash. But the zoom wasn't great for really close work and I wanted to have something that would give me that SLR quality for portraits of my kids. I knew I liked Fuji and their after sales service, so that bit was easy. And a few google searches threw up reviews of the s3500 that convinced me it would do all I required of it.

The reviews weren't wrong. The quality of the images is just amazing. I know you can get 10MP cameras now and I'm sure that you can see the jump up in quality, but as far as I'm concerned, this 4MP camera will do me just fine. The viewfinder does give a somewhat pixellated view and you don't really see the crispness of the images and the vividness of colours and tones until you upload them to your computer. But I can live with that.

It has a nice feel in the hand - SLR style, but a little more compact.

No complaints. Certainly not at £50!
