FUJIFILM FinePix S3500 Digital Camera

This is a cracking camera as a budget type. Light weight and easy to hold in one hand, it looks the part as well. The 16Mb card is way too small but for about £20 a 1Gb card gives me over 7000 shots at minimum quality and 495 at maximum. It has a very usefull trimming capability which is ideal for very close shots, I use this for photgraphing jewelery. Unfortunatly it does not have a multi-shot sports mode but lets be honest, how often would you use it. The picture quality is exellent and just as good as the 8mp camera it is replacing. It does not have a micraphone so the videos mode is not much good as you would always need to have sound but it is, as they say, limited only to the size of your memory card. It does not rate a 5/5 because of the few points I find it is missing but as a value for money camera it has to be 4/5 plus.

I am no photographer but only had a finepix a202 and wanted to improve all facilities without going too expensive or complex. The S3500 is higher definition, greater capacity, has a better flash unit, better focussing, better battery life, virtually every aspect of it is quite a step up from the A202 and at the same time it is just as user freindly, lightweight and compact. Because it is now an older generation, they can be bought surprisingly cheaply and are excelent value for money.

Excellent Camera, taken so many lovely pictures taken with it, Only dissapointment was the momery but you can buy more so thats okay!!! Selling mine now for an upgrade, buying another fuji as they are excellent!!!!!

For the price this camera is hard to beat, look for paying under £40.00 unless it comes with extras as a set of rechargeable batteries will set you back about £10 (4xAA) and a memory card another £5 or so.

The camera itself takes very nice, sharp and very colourful photo's, Occasionally it suffers with not getting the focus quite right and it doesn't have any kind of focus assist lamp on it so cannot focus in low light. The camera doesn't have any manual focus facilities either so this can work to be a problem.

The memory card is a XD card which isn't as popular as the normal SD format and thusly is slightly more expensive and not a readily available but doesn't really pose to much of a problem as they are fairly cheap on eBay.

It claims to have manual features as well as point and shoot capability, it infact has very little you can do manually so if your looking for something like that then this isn't the camera for you. I bought this for my daughter who is just getting into photography and the features are about right for her to be honest, she can experiment without getting bogged down with working out exposure, shutter speed and so on.

All in all a very decent buy, good strong flash, nice clear LCD (with seperate LCD viewfinder to be more SLR like) good lens.


What more can I say, if your just starting out in photography and are looking for something to start with to maybe move on once you've learnt and outgrown the features on this one then it's a very good buy. If you just want an everyday point and shoot then there are smaller cameras with similar feature around for the same price.


End of the day, it's your call but I'm not at all disapointed :)

i love this camera, so easy to use, i am a new grandma so am having great fun with it!! 2 new memory cards with it so just click and go, this computer wants fixing with a large hammer, sorry!!!!!

10x optical zoom, image stabiliser, very intuitive operation and great price; what more could one ask? This is my first Fuji and I'm kicking myself for messing with those other makes. I've got a new screen-saver - a shot of leaf-litter on the ground in my local woodland that I took by accident while checking out the camera on a dog-walk - came out sharp and clear with great colour saturation despite the miserable November afternoon light. I'm a fan!
Unless you're the fussiest pro on the planet this camera will meet your needs - even the movie mode is great!

I recently broke my works camera and needed a replacement. I have a personnal Fujifilm FinePix and have always been happy with it. So I decided to find a used one on ebay to replace my works one. This one has slightly less specification but perfectly adequate for what I use it for. Have been impressed with it so far.

This is a wonderful camera for the average user. It's easy to use. Its robust and sturdy. The quality is very good for the money required to purchase it. The Fuji FinePix S3500 may not be a camera for the professional but for the amateur or the average user it is a very useful tool. overall not outstanding in terms of Quality but in terms of Value for Money, I think it is hard to beat. Highly rated.

Excellent camera well suited to any user from beginners to more experienced users. don`t be put off by only 4 mill. pixels this camera produces great photos.

Good quality entry level SLR style digital camera. 4 megapixel is adequate if you're not going to be printing to a large size. Quick start up and easy to use. Downside is the viewfinder which is very grainy. Better just to use the screen for most shots.
