FUJIFILM FinePix S1500 Digital Camera

This review is written by a true amateur photographer. The camera is small and compact, but has all the features of a much larger and more complicated camera. The best points are the ability to switch between the view finder and the LCD screen, the flash is fantastic and the 'low light' ability of the camera is second to none. The pin-point sharpness of the photo it produces is amazing. The ‘continuous shot mode’ is truly remarkable.
The only complaint I have with the Camera is that there is no Battery Strength display. The only time you are aware that the batteries are low, is when a red symbol appears on the display, and you need to change the batteries quickly.
Apart from that, the camera is one of the best buy’s I have made on e-bay and would highly recommend this to anyone who still wants a compact camera, but wants one with a view finder, which eliminates the ‘blindness’ in strong sun-light, experienced with the small digital compact cameras.

This camera is totally idiot proof! Lots of great features for a novice photographer looking to advance.

I looked at many reviews for different cameras and this ticked ALL the boxes.
It is smallish, light and with a great specification. The iso goes up to 1600 which means you can shoot in very low light without needing flash to capture atmospheric shots. It takes either standard or rechargable AA batteries which means they can be purchased anywhere (unlike my Nikon which are £45.00 a battery and have to be recharged often and can be a bummer when away). The batteries last absolutely ages which is great. The image screen is large but is not one of the foldaway type so be careful you don't scratch it.
The quality of the photos are superb, at 10mega pixel they are as good as a film photo. Zoom is fuss free and quick. It has a speed zoom option which zooms in to a subject instantly at the touch of a button (no waiting for the lens to come out from it's hole).Face recognition for good focusing on the subject The lens appears to be good quality, distortion free, and the processor reproduces colours faithfully. The flash is powerful enough for most uses.
There are many sub menus for taking shots of different subjects in different scenarios, these are easily accessed and self explanetary even for the novice.
In short, it bridges the gap nicely between full blown SLR and tiny compact.
If you treasure your moments but are fed up with the disappointing results from your tiny compact (but don't want to go the full blown SLR route), get one of these superb little cameras. They cost just a little bit more but well worth the extra. After all, memories are special, so why not give them what they deserve

This camera was bought for my son.He found it easy to use and download is simple.All photoes are in focus sharp and clear.The price was reasonable a good camera for all his needs.

Love the package received. Love camera bag to place it in with lovely protection. The cleaning kit contains all that is needed to maintain the item. The tripod is just what I needed for close up detailed super macro images. Quick start up with batteries and rechargeable batteries and charger for them, although this was a little flimsy but I already had a much sturdier one. I am using this for lots of close up work and the images through the software easy upload and removal from the memory card supplied is very simple to use, even for the non technical people.

Simple to use, lightweight digital camera. Excellent results all round. All controls easy to understand and operate.

Excellent product with an easy read guide. Excellent accessories which are usable. Needed to update my old camera so had been looking for a while and this one seemed the best. Glad i purchased it.

I brought my fuji s1500 from amazon 2 weeks ago and took it to mexico as well as my nikon coolpix 3700 5 years old, i took 500 pictures with the fuji and 100 with the nikon camera, the fuji felt nice in the hand and had some good features for for the price, most of the pictures were taken in good sun, and some in the evening useing the flash most in the auto mode ie point and shot,the zoom was great,panarama mode was good,macro mode good,flash very good.When i returned home and down loaded the pictures i was not very pleased
of the 400 pictures 100 was avarage and the rest were below average quality,many were out of focus even useing shake mode, auto focus,some of the
pictures were grainey,when compared to my nikon 3.2 megapixels point and shoot
i could not understand why the quality was poor, some of the pictures taken with the fuji in the evening with flash were avarage and ok if you keep them at postcard size.
i had read many reviews on this camera before purchase and decided i would send it back and look at the nikon l100 model as i am a nikon man tried this camera out at my local store and did not like this camera, so i decided i would have one more try with the fuji, spent a sunday with the camera trying all the settings iso etc etc, the results were ok but not good you had to tweak the camera to get any avarage results and for most people this is not a option as many good pictures will be lost, if you ask me to rate this camera i would give it 4/5 for features,and 2/5 for picture quality , just dont look at the pictures to closely, my lumix z38 should be here in a few days.

Prior to going digital, I was proud of my photo's with my 35mm kit. Changing to digital, I gradually increased the pixils of my cameras. These were not SLR. My last one, a 10.1 pixil, the viewer was breaking up, cost to repair, forget it. I searched through Ebay, and others, and this seemed the best value for money. I am very pleased with the pictures and performance. Money well spent.

Its real ease of use, how compact the camera is and to hold. The picture quality and the excellent features this camera has to offer. Money well spent and definatey worth buying this camera for semi pro use and happy snap use. I would highly reccommend this camera to all. Trust me its a good all round versatile camera.

I bought this camera for my wife as I have the fuji s5600 and thought this would be a nice "ladies camera", how wrong!!. the s1500 does what my SLR does and a lot more. we have just been on holiday and I used the s1500 all the time. brilliant results and very easy to use. outstanding!!

well i had a finepix s3000 which i have had for 4 years decided it was time to upgrade. So i went into a local camera shop and had a play with one, im not very technical when it comes to gagets but this is so easy to use and set up it even has an idiot setting that sets it up to photograph any thing indoors portraits and a setting to multi hold down shutter button for continouse shots. The picture quality is 10.1 mega pixels and is of stunning quality.

The camera takes lovely clear pictures. Its nice and easy to use with different options i.e: xzooming, how fine you want the picture, red eye deduction, anti shaking facility which is fantastic for me as I suffer with shaky hands and etc....

This camera is a great buy for people wanting to get a bridge/hybrid but don't know enough about photgraphy to justify a dslr.

The images are crystal clear, even at night without the flash, using the different presets really brings out the colour in the photo and makes them stand out when printed. Easy to use and a nice size, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this camera to anyone.

This package seemed almost too good to be true. The camera that I wanted for a reasonable price with the added bonus of lots of extras. However it proved to be absolutely true and fantastic value. I am planning on using this seller again in the near future.

This camera is amazing, never had one like it. The picture quality on screen alone is beyond my widest dreams, I cant begin to imagine what the quality will be like when developed. Wow.

I have actually bought this camera for a forthcoming trip and will write more about the results when I get back in October. So far the zoom has proved excellent. I got a close up shot of a person who was a great distance away with no blurring at all. The panorama facility is also very easy to use and gives lovely results

after much research for my hubbies birthday, this was THE ONE !! a fantastic stills camera that is digital for straight onto the pc, as an added bonus it can be a camcorder that sits in the palm of your hand ! I decided we needed a case and good size memory card and the best package deal on the web was e-bay !!So easy to use - just put it in idiot mode and the 8yr old can use it.
