Quality

Usually compact cameras have a fairly small 1/2.5" sensor. This has a 1/1.6" superCCD sensor, which is about as good as it gets outside of a dSLR. The result is that this camera produces images which are exceprionally good, at a very low price. The camera is largely automatic and there is no facility to set aperture or shutter speed priority, but frankly I never use those settings anyway on a point and shoot and very rarely on better cameras.
There is a large and well detailed 2.7" LCD screen but no viewfinder, which is a nuisance on bright days, but again most people use the screen for composition and few compacts have viewfinders. ISO sensitivity goes up to 1600 which is grainy but useable and the more realistic 800 ISO setting gives pretty good images.
The camera is fairly heavy, having a lot of metal in the frame, butr fine for a pocket or handbag. Bottom line: top quality image, get one while they are still available - or the F45FD which is identical but blue.
