FUJIFILM FinePix 2800 Zoom Digital Camera

Our first digital camera was a Kodak DC280. Solid, reliable. All the things one expects from Kodak and a good choice for a beginner but we move on. After much cogitation we settled on a FinePix 2800. Over the weeks we have had it it has proved to be a good choice. More complex than the Kodak but with superb picture quality. For a camera with a nominal 2MB capacity I would rate it outstanding.
An A4 size print is pretty well as good as it gets. My wife loves it.

Would I recommend it? Most certainly.

I bought this camera to do a digital photography workshop and it was perfect for it. The camera is robust, easy to use and even though it's not big with the megapixels the photos will blow-up to an A4 print. The camera does use batteries but I recomend Duracell Procells as they seem to last the longest. Its not a slim pocket camera but I can't fault the photos it took and the group seemed to like using it and took to it well. If this is for a first time user or a budding young photographer its highly recomended as you can turn the back screen off and just use the view finder which is acurate and helps them to take a better picture as they have to learn to frame the image and steadies the camera.

Excellent camera, takes very good pictures 6x zoom is very good. fuji lenses are the best. cant fault this camera for taking pics but video is not so good but thats not why I bought it it is a cheapish camera that can take anywhere Fishing, walking ,racing etc without having to worry about it being damaged.

after using mtl5 this is a must for any one to begin useing a digital camera its just right size and is very easy to use for any novice takes very good pics and compact enough to carry around.

This is a great cam, ideal for the beginer to digital photography, i bought for my daughter,nice compact good looking, just brill, there is nothing about this cam i donot dislike.

Love the camera take way way better pics than my wifes minolta and hers is a 6 something mega pixel. The clarity is unreal for a 2.0 MP high quality pics with unreal clarity.. I have had this camera for 4 yrs without failure or any issues its prety durable and kinda big your not going to lose grip of it .. Simple to use .. Best 2 Mp camera out there also take video but the video quality isnt that good but for pictures this is a excellent camera. If this one quit I would buy antoher one just like it !!!!!!

This is an ideal camera for someone looking to venture into digital photography for the first time, but who doesn't want to spend a fortune. Although only 2 megapixels, the quality of the camera is such that it gives excellent results; and 2 megapixels is ample for regular 6x4 inch prints. I would rather have an excellent 2MP camera, than a 5MP camera that was mediocre.
The only downside of the camera is that it uses an out of date memory card format - SmartMedia, which is becoming more difficult to come across, and is expensive in comparison to other types of memory cards.

So simple to use you just turn it on, take off the lens cap, point and shoot. You can’t go wrong with this camera it simply takes great pictures! As a graphic designer I have been very impressed with the quality of the pictures produced by the camera. It has never let me down. Fuji Finepix cameras are simply the best in my opinion. One thing that also surprised me was the size it is actually quite small... small enough to put in your pocket!

when i recieved the camara i seemed to be ok. i took one or two photos great. i took it on holiday a week later to find the camara had a fualt with its softwear which rendered the camara useless so i threw it in the dustbin. wat a waist of time!. people should be aware that some of the e-bay users are unscroupless.

This a good little camera, with a 'real' zoom. It's old now, and uses only SmartMedia memory (max size just 128Mb!) and isn't very fast. It also has only basic controls, and the resolution (still and movie isn't very high).

So, why 'good'? well, despite the low-res, low-tech features, it takes cracking pictures. The Fuji lens is excellent, and it'd make an ideal first camera for someone - or an emergency backup to keep in the car.

Don't pay very much for it, though, and don't use it without rechargeable batteries - it'll eat Duracells! Pay £15 for it and you have a bargain,

this is a great camera, with its great zoom lens and high quality Photographing ability, it has a good sized screen that is great for reviewing photots, and and electronic viewfinder which is great to take the photos, the one downside for me is the battery life is rather short, which reduces the amount of time you have to take your photos.
all in all, a good purchase, with wonderful features, but watch the batteries, as they will go fast.

Digital photography - scary? Not with this little easy to handle,easy to operate camera.
Point and shoot - dont like what you see? The instructions are all there for deletion or acceptance.
Download to computer - easy usb cable.
Fits my hand like a glove.
Video mode 1 minute at a time. Does not sound very long but I always found it long enough.
Takes 4 batteries but they seem to have a long usage time.
Great for beginner or for proffessional photos.

This is a fab camera, i don't have a vast experience with digital camera's but tend to stick to what i know.
This camera is easy to use, has high def photographs and can take video footage with sound.
It is suitable for anyone to use, nice to hold and has quality images which is great for selling as sometimes small items are tricky to photograph but not with this camera after a little practice.
Self explaintory camera, simple yet high quality.

I was given one of these cameras as a gift and have used it for a few years but recently broke it, but as the quality and ease of use was so high, I will continue to use this make and model - hence purchasing another one.
The camera is light-weight and gives high quality pictures that show great detail. The video feature isnt as perfect as most up-to-date camcorders etc, but even this does the job well, and again to a very good standard. the only complaint, all be it a very minor one, is the shutter spead is a fraction slow. otherwise this a fantastic camera, simple and easy to use for any age. highly recommended

Was to replace an identical camera that I already owned , but the one I purchased is in worse condition than mine

This camera is very old and using useless smart media memory card but its the best you can have for 30 40 quid. Why ? Because optics and lens are very rare and unique. There is two issue SMART MEDIA memory card nad 2Megapixel ccd sensor

Great little SLR digital camera for the beginner or more advanced.
Great colours in the pictures.

This is a high-quality, easy-to use camera which gives great results.
Although only 2 Megapixels, the 6x Optical zoom compensates for this.
The camera is chunky and the controls are easy to use.
The menu takes a bit of getting used to but has all the features you need.
In short, a very good buy and highly recommended.

I bought mine in Gibraltar not long after they came out. I think the price in Britain was £500 + at the time. I got mine for £200. I am delighted with it. It is easy to use and produces excellent quality pictures. The only possible downside is the fact that it will only cope with a maximum of 128MB smart media card and this is 4.5x3.7 cms inj size and is becoming quite difficult to come by. Otherewise, an an excellent camera well worth considering. I would like to add that the part picture shown above, is not the Finepix2800 Zoom

Purchase procedures were excellent but having used the item I find serious problems with maintaining the cgarge in the battery. There were three batteries with the purchase and I already had two from my previous camera, non of these are satisfactory.

smartmedia card bit dated, old usb connector also dated, however camera is easy to use, handles ok ( bit fiddly to zoom)and seems to take a good image, happy to let my 5 yr old have a "first" camera, but I would honestly go for SD card storage and forget these.........good in its day and still good, but overall....buy something newer.

Fujifilm FinePix 2800 Zoom is a small bundle of surprises, with its 6X optical zoom and Webcam capabilities. Don't expect a high-end feature set, though; this compact 2.1-megapixel camera is point-and-shoot simple.
Point-and-shoot fans will have fun recording 60-second video clips with sound and make good use of the 30-second voice-caption feature for still shots. Attaching a verbal note to a photo is perfect for eliminating postvacation image-identification confusion, especially when there are multiple shots of the same types of subjects, such as cathedrals or landscapes. And, if you like to videoconference with family and friends, you can hook up the 2800 Zoom to your computer and use it as a Webcam.
This camera takes excellent pictures, is very easy to use with a very impressive zoom lens, has a great macro mode, and records videos with sound.

I have just purchased my second fuji 2800. My first one was damaged beyond repair on holiday a few years ago. I spent £400 on a new fuji 5500, even though this had more gadgets, I prefered the 2800. Its only 2 mega pixels, but it doesnt matter. Because of the brilliant zoom all photos are sharp. The only downside is that the smartmedia cards are not being manufactured, so make sure you get one with the camera otherwise they are expensive.
