Quite simply the best ever film of the Arthurian Legend
Review created: 04/12/08(updated 09/12/08)
Another film I've seen many times and had to buy on DVD. The best ever film version of the arthurian legend by a country mile, faithful to the mainstream story, with an otherwordly/magickal feel throughout. Merlin as a silver-helmed nutter (not the stereotypical old man with long white hair and a beard) is outrageous, with an all-star cast. Brilliant costumes, a genuine sense of menace from the baddies, only let down by a wooden script. All together now "Anaal Nathrakh, Uthvas bethud, Doghiel Dyenvei!"
