Eragon (DVD)

I brought this film for my son. He was raving about it for ages. Although i love Stardust, Harry Potter, Narnia etc i did think this film was going to be just another one of those sorts. It turned to to be and more! Great story line brilliant acting and the effects are out of this world. You like fantasy and make believe? Watch Eragon, you wont be diapointed!

It's a good family based film, but could have been better, a little more behind the story would have been great.
Still the effects are great to watch, both my kids really enjoyed this.
Oh, and it ends with a another baddie emerging, so expect Eragon 2 sometime in the future.

If you liked the Lord of the Rings...then you're in for a laugh!
The movie can probably be sumed up by 2 words: 'So what?'. The main problem with Eragon is that the plot is too complicated for a young audience (they struggled summing up 500+ pages in less than 2 hours) and too cheesy for a more mature one...

From what I understand this movie covers the first of 3 books in the epic. I am not looking forward to the other 2...
I quite like Jeremy Irons but why didn't he learn from the abysmal Dungeons and Dragons? Oh, and for those who would buy this DVD just for Rachael Weisz, don't bother - she is the voice of the dragon...

That's only my opinion though and I'm sure lots of people enjoyed the movie (which took a whopping $75 million at the US box office!) and are going to buy the DVD. in this case, I would recommend the Special Edition DVD packed with loads of extras.

I saw about 30 minutes of this film on TV and it left me dying to see the rest. Wether you love mythology, epic battles or gripping sotrylines this film is sure to have you watching right until the end. The endless mythological creatures, good and evil and an all star cast of interesting characters just keeps you gripped even more.

superb film, based on a book. absolutely loved it. the relationship between the dragon and his rider is amazing. the film seems like it is for the younger audience but im 25 and i loved it and so did my parents who are in their fifties. i also bought it for my 12 year old nephew who loved it too. it really is a lovely, entertaining story and hopefully there will be another film as the book is in two parts....fingers crossed!

I don't care what other people say about this film, it is amazing. Action packed and powerful, especially when brom dies and when we think saphira dies.

Overall an amazing film and if people can't say anything nice, they shouldn't say anything at all!

wanted to watch to remember night at pictures watching it, good characters and film story line, mythical edge to film good knew some of star performing in it

One of the worst book adaptations I've ever watched. I don't even understand why it went through cinemas!
This film does not capture the sense of adventure or magic the book does, cuts out/changes major parts and has poor effects.
To make a sequel to this film would be a disaster, due to the cutting of major parts.
I want to MAKE a remake, at least to show the director of this one how it should be done...

Good film and good actors, You will enjoy this, one for all the family to watch and enjoy. However if your a fan of the books and have read eragon before seeing the film, as with most addabtation perpare to be disappointed. The book is better.

I read the book and out of interest decided to watch the movie to see the differences between both, i was quite disappointed as the movie felt rushed and left so much out, it was only half the story.

Great make believe story. The fight for good over evil well acted. The boy born to be a dragon rider could be any boys dream. No bad language. No sex scenes. There is a lot of fighting.

I have long been a fan of the fantasy film, this example has all it takes to make entertaining viewing for all the family. The effects are outstanding, the story line has all the elements of myth, morality and pure fantasy and woven into an enjoyable entertainment.

This DVD came in excellent condition and it was packaged well. I decided to buy this product as my 12 year old son loves dragons and he loves it. The graphics are very well done in this film and the Dragons look real.

I like this film for its special effects and the good acting. Its got plenty of action in it and is a good fantasy film for the family!

This is a fantastic fantasy film. I would highly recommend that you see this film if you like dragons or like the fantastic Jeremy Irons and John Malkovich (The Man In The Iron Mask).Great special effects. A*

My 9 year old daughter wanted this and she loves it, very entertaining family film of which i enjoyed too.

This film is spellbounding I borrowed it from a friend and my eldest daughter thoughally enjoyed it. When I found it on e-bay I bought it so that she could have her own copy. I love all the special effects that are in the film.

Umm well I've wanted this product as i've seen parts of it but not all so i decided to buy it...

can you please tell me why this review is SO important that it takes up a lot of time typeing and that is what i dont really want to do BUT hay i cant get away from it.

My husband and I enjoyed this film, as we like fantasy adventure films. I would class this as an all round family film. I decided to buy this, after seeing trailers.

This is a good film. set in the time when dragons were alive[ if you beleive in dragons] I like sci fi films and films about the future or the past. good storyline and great special effects.

Fast paced film, not as good as the book, but worthy of 7/10, exciting fantasy film, would of liked it to have become a trilogy as so much was left out, suitable for all ages

A fantastic story about a farm boy who has a date with destiny to become the last of the Dragon riders.

love the movie so mostly sold itself but good communication sealed deal,thanks !cant comment on product till it finally arrives but believe due tomorrow so cant wait !
