Truly, the GREATEST martial arts movie ever!
Review created: 27/08/08(updated 28/08/08)

I'm a martial arts movie fan fanatic; meaning I can watch these movies all day/night long with absolutely no stopping: 24/7/366!
And, by far my biggest martial arts movie star hero ever is Bruce Lee. Even though Bruce is now long dead; no other martial arts movie star even comes anywhere near close; and, this still remains my own verdict after seeing all the rest of them who came afterwards(Jackie Chan/Jet Li/Steven Seagal/Cynthia Rothrock/Tony Jaa/Claude Van Damne/Chuck Norris/Jimmy Wang Yu/-etc).
But, why is Bruce so incredibly great; greater than all the rest of them being put together either before or since? There are many reasons, actually.
The first is, he was a true acting talent; because he originally came from a performing Chinese Opera family; and, was in fact appearing in movies from ever since he was very young; he appeared in his first movie as a baby, in fact! And, then, went on to appear in further such movies throughout his youth(Kid Cheung/-etc). Thus, when we see the adult Bruce Lee appearing in movies; it's not like watching any other totally boring/clumsy actor-(to whom martial arts comes, first/then, acting, last); but, instead, this is an actor of tried and tested very well proven ability and talent; and, that's why his acting always rings so perfectly 'true'.
-(The movies where the very young Bruce Lee appears are not famous, however; and, are therefore mostly unknown to the large majority of us in the West; we in the West do only know about his main 5 movies in which he starred as being an adult, and, also, fully developed actor...
-Big Boss
-Fist Of Fury
-Way Of The Dragon
-Enter The Dragon
-Game of Death
...he also starred in a few other films, too, including TV series(mostly, shown in America)...
-Longstreet
-Green Hornet
-and, had a guest appearance in the movie, Marlowe, alongside famous actor James Garner.
In addition to which you will find clips of...
-TV interviews
-And, private footage where he trains with such famous actors as James Coburn
-etc.
As I'm sure you can already detect, I've been a tremendous fan of Bruce Lee for all of my entire life; from ever since age 8/right up to my present age 45. So, in the interim period I've read loads and loads of books about him/I confess, I've had posters covering all 4 of my bedroom walls/even, right now, I'm looking across the living room, and, I have a huge framed print on the wall of Bruce holding nunchakus(scene from WOTD). Thus, I'm tempted here to write entire whole books about him and his life story...however, I'm not too sure that would say very much to anybody who is reading this review just to learn more about the actual movie itself; thus, I shall now return back to discussing only the movie, alone.
-(To people who want to learn more about Bruce, and, his life...; I recommend you just simply do an internet search for the name: Bruce Lee...; I'm sure, from the VERY long list of search results that come back...you'll be kept reading for absolute ages!)-
All I can say is that for Bruce himself; this was his most important film; because it was originally created to please an 'international' audience. Very kindly, please, bear in mind, that Bruce was a total perfectionist; so, you can be sure that both story/and, every single scene is most utterly brilliant. In short, if there were only 'one' martial art movie that you could watch...; then, most undoubtedly, this one would be it; the greatest martial art movie ever!
