Enid Blyton's Enchanted Lands - The Magic Of The Faraway Tree (DVD 2004)

I bought this for my Nephew for Christmas. He is 6 years old and from what I gather, he hasn"t stopped watching it. The reason I bought it, was, when my own son was about the same age, I bought him the book, which he loved and re-read time and again.
When his own son was the same age, he too bought the book for him.

I think this dvd is ideal for young minds and enhances their imaginations, something that is sadly lacking in today"s culture.

My dughter loves this DVD, she only wants to watch this one at the moment, She also wants me to read her the stories at bedtime, so it is definately worth the money I spent on it

This was my favourite book as a child, i loved it and was transported to this magical land every time i read it. I and am now buying a copy for my grandchildren as sadly my copy was given to a church fete by my mother many moons ago.

A wonderful collection of stories based upon the Enid Blyton Novels 'The Magic Faraway Tree' and 'The Folk of the Faraway Tree'.

These stories, no longer than 10 minutes in total are all very enjoyable. I used to watch these on Video back in the day (okay, only about 12 years or so). The stories have been entertaining every time I have seen them.

The only thing that bothers me slightly about them is the fact that I know there were more made. I had these on Video at some point and was hoping that I would be able to view the whole lot again, but they aren't here. It also doesn't appear that they are planning on putting the rest onto DVD anytime soon.

Apart from this slightly fussy nature of mine, I would heavily encourage parents to buy this for their children. Or even those of use who still have a little kid inside of us, no matter how much older we get.

I have read the books and thought wouldn,t it be nice if a film had been made and then saw one on EBay. It really is only for children and was aminated but it was fun to watch, it just brought back some happy childhood memories. Its worth a watch.

Since my daughter (age 6) has received this she just can't stop watching it and neither can her friends when they are round, it is always the first DVD to be asked for. Whats great is that you can stop it half way through if time doesn't allow for the full DVD as it has different stories nso it doesn't matter how much time you have to spare you can watch one or all. Since watching the DVD we have now bought the book for bedtime reading, fantastic!

I read the Faraway tree books when I was small and have been reading it to my daughter (she's 4) as I thought she'd enjoy the magical lands. G loved all the stories and wanted to hear more every night so we decided to buy the dvd to entertain her in the day (and give our story reading voices a break).

The DVD was on loop for several days and is loved by both my girls & their cousins (ranging from 2-6).

The dvd is a modernised version of the stories (Dame Tickle instead of the original Dame Slap) but that's not a bad thing and the characters/stories are engaging and fun (for small children). Now the only problem is the kids want more?!

Great dvd, kids love it, great price too. With the free packaging, it made it a very inexpensive way to entertain my two children who are currently reading this series of books.
