A girly treat!

I first saw this movie with my 11 yr old daughter on a flight to NYC. I'm sure it helped that we were both so excited about our trip but despite the tiny screens we both enjoyed it so much that I decided to buy the DVD as a Christmas present for her, so we can have a snuggly evening watching it again together on a bigger screen (still only a TV but a vast improvement on the plane screens!). I reckon she's part of the perfect age group for this film; it's got lots of super-camp over the top stuff in it, but it communicates some solid values as well and it manages to pull the heart strings like only a Disney movie can (if that isn't a camp line I don't know what is...) Joking aside though, if you like the idea of a modern day twist on a fairy tale, this film fits the bill and I remember being very impressed with the performance of Amy Adams, who manages to make an in principle outrageous premise believable enough to keep you interested. And then, about half way through the film, you realise that you're thoroughly enjoying the ride. I haven't watched this film yet with my partner and our boys so I cannot vouch for the guys, but girls of pretty much all ages will enjoy this film!
