Album Notes This 1997 reissue of LOVING YOU is remixed and remastered from the original three-track master tapes, and includes 8 extra tracks. This is the soundtrack to Elvis' second movie.Personnel includes: Elvis Presley (vocals, guitar); Scotty Moore, Tiny Timbrell (guitar); George Fields (harmonica); Dudley Brooks, Gordon Stoker, Hoyt Hawkins (piano); Bill Black (bass); D.J. Fontana (drums); The Jordanaires (background vocals).Reissue producers: Ernst Mikael Jorgensen, Roger Semon.Recorded at The Paramount Scoring Stage and Radio Recorders, Hollywood, CA in January and February 1957.Elvis Presley's first film, Love Me Tender, included music as an afterthought, but music was the priority in his next, Loving You. Four of the seven songs were hits, while "Mean Woman Blues" has been recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and many others. "(Let's Have A) Party" at 90 seconds is the shortest single ever to make the charts, a peculiar achievement as Elvis has an additional verse in the film. Fans used to send Elvis Presley teddy bears, hence the song of the same name. Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller wrote one of their finest ballads with "Loving You," a song comparable to Cole Porter's "True Love" which, in turn, completed this 8-track, 10-inch album. In the USA, the album was issued in 12-inch format and the four additional tracks, including "Blueberry Hill," were released on an EP in the UK.
