Sumner And The Stamps.Compilation producers: Ernst Mikael Jorgensen, Roger Semon.Recorded between 1956 and 1977.All tracks have been digitally remastered.Every few years since Elvis Presley's death, RCA Records has released a collection of Elvis' love songs, usually in conjunction with Valentine's Day. LOVE SONGS is the label's 1998 entry in the series. These packages vary in length and track selection, although each invariably includes the biggest romantic hits: "Love Me Tender," "Are You Lonesome Tonight?", and "Can't Help Falling in Love." Of these albums--others include HEART AND SOUL and A VALENTINE GIFT FOR YOU--LOVE SONGS is the most conservatively programmed. Nearly all its eighteen tracks will be familiar even to casual Elvis fans. Among the megahits included here (besides those previously mentioned) are "Surrender," "It's Now Or Never," and "The Wonder of You." LOVE SONGS includes several heartbreak songs, among them "Suspicious Minds," "You Gave Me a Mountain," and "Kentucky Rain." Among the few lesser-known tracks are such fine offerings as "That's Someone You'll Never Forget" (the b-side of "All Shook Up") and "Puppet On A String" (from the movie "Girl Happy").
