Electric Light Orchestra - Time [Remastered] (CD 2001)

I was very excited when this arrived - I remember the original album very well and was expecting to be taken back in time!

It started off well, all the songs I remember and the fantastic way this album is laid out; the tracks all leading into one another like a story. The sounds and atmosphere of this album are amazing.

Unfortunately, beacause I remember the original so well, it was very obvious to me that, during the 'remastering' of this album, a fundamental element of the sound has been changed in some way - the sounds just don't blend the way they used to and this affects some tracks more than others. Some of the songs just sound 'wrong', like I've messed about with the balance on the stereo.

Although this is an amazing album and I'm glad I've got it, I will be on the hunt for the original because this just isn't the same.

The name ELO has always been associated with high class rock music. Given their many Number one hits I suppose this goes without saying. I Like this album and the way Jeff Lynne has lined up the tracks. The haunting Solo Ticket to the Moon stands out above some of the others. A few of the tracks seem like fill in or additions. However all in all another worthwhile addition to the Collection.

This is by far the best album I have ever bought. It sounds as good now as it did back in the early 80s. Buy it you will love it.

I have the original cd release of this album that i bought in 1985 and have always considered it to be one of the best albums ELO produced the space age sound and feel to all the tracks sent you into a dream like world and many singles came from this album but i have just bought it all over again because of the bonus tracks the main one being "when time stood still" it was released as the B side to hold on tight and though i have the single on vinyl i cant play it anymore as i don't have a record deck so i was thrilled to find the track on cd at last they should have made hold on tight a double A side single as the B side deserved better it's ELO at their best what a track.

THIS ALBUM RANKS SECOND ONLY TO OUT OF THE BLUE AND HAS DATED FANTASTICALLY. HOLD ON TIGHT , HERE IS THE NEWS AND TICKET TO THE MOON ARE ALL HERE. DONT RESIST-INDULGE YOUR PAST DAYS! - GIVE THE BASE SPEAKER A WORK OUT AND PLAY VERY VERY LOUD.

I love everything about this album. its great.I had this on vinyl as a young lad & it still sounds amazing after 25 years.

I have a few E.L.O. CD's. When I bought a greatest hits one I noticed some familiar tracks but didn't know what album they came off. After a bit of research I found that some came from the TIME album. Purchased it on E-Bay and never regretted it. One of E.L.O's finest.

You got to give ELO credit, it was a new decade and they were evolving their sound to stay current. Gone are the usual lush bed of strings, to be replaced with layers and layers of synths. While the production is as spot on as ever, the songs aren't quite as strong as that showcased on the previous 3 albums. Twilight, Ticket to the Moon & Here is the News are personal favourites, but as a whole it doesn't stand out as one of the bands best LPs. The bonus tracks are pretty worthless.. sadly... like on most of the ELO remasters.

On time and goods in perfect condition. I was looking for this CD for some time now andwas delighted to find a remastered copy on eBay.
