Jeff Lynne was and is a notorious studio perfectionist, which usually bodes ill for a live document, but by 1978, concert technology had progressed to the point where ELO could deliver a fairly faithful replication of Lynne's obsessively multitracked recordings. Recorded with a full complement of extremely talented string players and the core ELO lineup of Lynne, his longtime musical partner Bev Bevan, Richard Tandy, and Kelly Groucutt, LIVE AT WEMBLEY 1978 is a fun and illuminating set.
