The acting of Bob Peck is superb and inimitable, an actor we unfortunately see far too infrequently lately. A dark story of a man`s quest for the assasin who killed his daughter and becoming more and more aware of her connection with an anti nuclear group who are trying to expose the horrific threat posed to the earth through nuclear catastrophe. The story is unsettling with many edge of the seat moments, heightened by Eric Clapton`s spooky theme tune. Edge of darkness was written by Troy Kennedy Martin, produced by Michael Wearing and directed by Martin Campbell. Convincing performances from Joe Don Baker as renegade US agent Jedburgh and Joanne Walley as main Ccharacter Craven`s daughter. The series won six BAFTA awards including one for best original television music by Eric Clapton and Michael Kamen. This is a classic, and the BBC could do worse than to show this splendid series again. Review ID: 10000000001030289 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
