Dyson DC04SL Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

This is a good budget vacuum cleaner, reconditioned it has great suction and is working well now. It was never a slick machine and is heavy but does a great job and well worth it considering the price. The only reason 4 stars is that I'll have to see how long it lives but if it lasts then 5 stars would be well deserves (and I think it will).

Great Cleaner, originaly selling for more than 200. Have been using a root 8 DC07 animal and compared to this the cleaner seems to be slightly less powerfull, although still 10 times stronger than a similarly speced electrloux model. The hoover will cope with the black dust found in london where the electolux's air filter would clog after an hour or so the dyson keeps going, filters still need cleaning but this is much easier and only every 6 months or so.

All parts available online so easy to replace any broken or lost components.

Only annoyance compared to DC07 is the cable hook on the back wich rotates only 90 degrees either side of upright where as the slightly newer model rotates 360

Very strong machine, dragged it for nearly 2 miles along uneven london slabbed pavemnts with no problems.

Conclusion - Would never even concider buying a different brand. keeps going when other cleaners clog or cause so much stress they get smashed. very durable cleaner. Vaccum the carpet with your existing cleaner then run the dyson over it see how much you missed originaly.

Can't fault Dyson they are excellent cleaners. Suction great. Wouldn't be without one now, have one for upstairs and downstairs.

it is as you expect from a dyson full suction if full or empty has a long telescopic wand for doing stairs & hard to reach areas all the tools you could need for every day hoovering

Great value for money, refurbished item in very good condition. A quick tryout showed vast improvement over my ageing DC01.

1st impression is very good.

Love the way it is bagless. You get to see all your grime being sucked away and no cost for bags. Easy to use. An asset to any home.

I needed another vacuum for the upstairs as I have mobility proplems and find it impossible to transport my cleaner up the stairs. Having already got a Dyson for the downstairs I wanted the same quality for the upstairs rooms. I find this product the most effective vacuum I have ever purchased.

i WAS VERY UNSURE IF TO GO FOR RECONDITIONED BUT I AM VERY GLAD TO BE PROVEN WRONG , IT WAS BRILL SERVICE, WELL PACKED AND VERY FAST DELIVERY.

This machine is amazing, yes it is an older model but it has no loss of suction and parts are really easy and cheap to find.

The DYSON is so easy to use it puts life back into the carpet.
This is the first time i have used a DYSON i think its brilliant!
It is excellent for removing pet hairs off the carpet and furniture

There is nothing like a dyson, i dont have pets but i moved into a new house that had a dog and a cat there before,i am highly allergic to pet hair if i had not had the dyson i would never have got the pet hair up. i think its the best hoover on the market in any model.
The down side to the hoover is its very heavy and sometimes even trying to move it to hover is difficult.

This guy sold me a vacum cleaner which was obviously not the one he had pictured in his advert. It arrived stinking dirty. It overheated, smelt and the wheel came off. He did refund my money, but not the fifteen pounds it cost me to send it back.

I think he hoped I would just except his crap. This was not a mistake. He is misrepresenting his goods.

i have paid for item on the 25th of march and has not yet recieved payment this person has not fullfilled his obligation as a seller , i want my money back if the item has not been delivered by early next week and the strike removed against me . i have reported this to ebay .

Hoover arrived faulty,arranged with seller to send new hoover, never arrived ! excuses include I have been away, the couriers lost it,you signed for it.( We did indeed sign for the origional hoover)
We have saved e mailes detailing the transaction. Fact remains we have paid the money and still dont have a hoover that works.
We will take this up with Pay Pal. Please avoid this dishonest trader and check theme re his feedback.

Avg. ebay.co.uk market price for this machine in it's refurbished form should be around the £50-60 mark. The vacuum is a great piece of equipment for carpet floors only. The suction does not work well unless the brush control is on and the equipment is not as sturdy as described, as replacement parts are a common flaw in the design of the product. For wooden floors, try to DC08-19 instead. DC07 is by far the better product for carpet floors in price comparison. Really heavy equipment, not suitable for under beds or stairs

Bought the Dyson and recieved it within a week from seller. Some essential tubing was missing but seller sent these on as soon as I alerted him of the problem. very helpful seller.

Excellent cleaning at a very reasonable price... Item was spotless on delivery. Obvious care and quality refurbishment.

The dyson is fine, bit battered but for the price I paid I wasn't expecting anything in great order. Works well but cuts out occassionally. All in all I'm happy with the purchase.

Half filled the container first time I used it, really deep cleaned my carpet. Which did not look dirty!!!!

Hithertofore I have used the old DC01 ....the original Dyson. This one has more suck and the plastic is ....mostly at any rate more robust. The idea of the tools being fastened on is a good one as when loose they either get lost or try and get inside the machine. This makes slightly less noise from the motor but, when cleaning a carpet it is more noisy and really has a go to get the bits up..... A bit of a 'no compromise' machine which has super cleaned the carpets.....old one was not so good on the brush and this seems to have some sort of built in clutch to stop the belt shredding if anything gets jammed in it......excellent machine and well fit for purpose

I was unsure how a second hand, cleaned up Dyson would perform. But it has superb suction and is in great working order. So for £30 I have ended up with a first rate vaccuum cleaner which works better than all the new ones I have purchased over the years.
There are no instructions so you have it worked it out yourself - but that's not hard.
